Rock Lawn Cottage is a detached cottage near the village of Kealkill just six miles from Bantry. The cottage sleeps seven people and has two double bedrooms and one family room with three singles and a family bathroom and wet room. Also in the cottage is an open plan are with kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Outside is ample off road parking and a front lawn with furniture. Situated in west Cork, Rock Lawn Cottage is a lovely family holiday cottage all year round. Note: One well-behaved dog welcome.

Three bedrooms: 2 x double, 1 x family with 3 singles. Bathroom with bath, shower, basin and WC. Ground floor wet room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. Open kitchen, dining and sitting area with solid fuel stove. Utility.

Area
Kealkill is a small village in the west Cork countryside and is home to a shop and two pubs and the Kealkill stone circle a significant archaeological site. A short drive away is Bantry, a coastal town, located between Sheep's Head and the Beara Peninsula and is home to a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants great for dining out and experiencing good local Irish music. For outdoor fanatics there are plenty of activities for you to partake in such as golf, sailing, scuba diving, walking and cycling nearby, as well as a whole host of local treasures just waiting to be found.

County Cork is full of truly breathtaking natural beauty. With unspoilt beaches, historic castles, and modern visitor attractions, there's plenty for all ages to absorb and there is always plenty to see and do in County Cork.

We really enjoyed staying in this holiday home. I was very clean and spacious. The ground floor is open plan but cosy. You will need a car to get around if you stay here. There is lots to do in the area and lots of great day trips. The host was very welcoming and helpful.

We stayed here last week and couldn't have asked for better. Claire give us a lovely warm welcome when we arrived and she has literally thought of everything that you could need for a family break away. The bedrooms are all a good size with a lovely large kitchen diner and adjacent living room. The kitchen is fully equipped for eating in but there is also a big choice of restaurants and takeaways just less than five miles away in Bantry town. The Cottage was spotless, inside and out. The property has electric gates, therefore extremely safe for small children. We would highly recommend and would definitely return.

From the moment we arrived to the time we left we were overwhelmed by the welcome we received from Claire and her family.. The house was just perfect and had every imaginable amenity. From little things like dishwasher tablets, tin foil and tea bags to blocks and coal for the stove, there was nothing that wasn’t thought of for visitors. We absolutely loved our time in Rock Lawn Cottage and will definitely return!

Great house, spacious and clean.. We loved it. You will need a car. There is lots to see and do in the local area. Claire the host is very friendly and helpful. Perfect for a family with 3 or 4 children.

We had a lovely week at Rock Lawn Cottage in August 2020.. This place was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. It is situated in a lovely quiet location, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could need for a week away with the kids. If you want to eat in, there is a good choice of supermarkets, bakery's within the town. But there are plenty of good restaurants and takeaways to choose from too. We were blessed with amazing weather, however there is lots to do even if the weather is good or bad. Bantry is perfectly situated for exploring further on down the peninsula's with Barley cove, Mizen head, ring of Kerry and Dingle approximatly 1-1.5 hours drive either way. The drive passes by so quickly as there is so much beautiful scenery to take in. There is lots of areas to explore, national parks, pony trekking, kayaking and boat trips to name a few. Even with Covid restrictions, there was still plenty of safe places to go. We would definitely come back here again.

Lovely area, very quiet and peaceful.. Owners very friendly and helped if we needed anything. Not far from a few lovely wee towns and the amazing peninsulas of Cork. House very clean and had everything we needed. Go raibh maith agaibh to the hosts.

We were most impressed by the commitment to our comfort and enjoyment at Sykes Cottage.. The cottage was bigger than we expected, spotlessly clean, with very comfortable furniture, beds, bedlinen. Everything they could think of for us was included and there was such a warm welcome. We appreciated the pack with details of local areas of interest for visits, hikes, meals and information on local doctors, dentists etc should the need arise. We have rented holiday homes both in Ireland and abroad for many years and this was the best experience we have had to date. Guests know when their hosts have their best interests at heart and when this is sensed, it adds to the enjoyment of the stay. Having the proprietor on site was great. We had a friendly neighbour, who did not intrude on our privacy, but was eager to help us with directions and local information whenever needed. Honestly couldn't recommend this cottage/ spacious house more! We will definitely be back.
