WOW!!! What a beautiful place, we were met by Tom the owner who showed us around, told us how the hot tub operated etc. there was a welcome hamper on the table with butter, bara brith, fresh bread, milk and bottled water in the fridge, the cottage is beautifully furnished and and has absolutely stunning views over the valley, you have to see it to believe it , the only sound you here is wildlife, no cars passing , so peaceful there, my mother in law who is 90 was with us {she is very hard to please} and she didn't stop raving about it the whole time , she is quite immobile and somewhere from the depths of his garage Tom found a zimmer frame, which was invaluable to her, Olwen and Tom are the perfect hosts, we will definitely be back,

We first heard about The Firs from the owners son whilst it was being built and were shown some pictures which looked impressive. We had always stayed at hotels previously when visiting Mid Wales but decided for the first time to try self catering as the cabin looked so well fitted and luxurious. I have to say that we were not disappointed. On arrival we were very warmly greeted by Alwyn and shown around the cabin and shortly after that Tom arrived to explain how the hot tub worked. A welcome basket of local produce greeted us on the kitchen table which was a welcome surprise and all of the furnishings are of the highest standard to ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay. The lounge doors open out to an extremely spacious patio area part of which is covered and included a large gas fired BBQ but the highlight undoubtedly is a most impressive and spectacular view over the valley which can only be described as stunning and would not have been out of place on a picture postcard. I can only add that Alwyn and Tom did everything possible to ensure that we had a comfortable and memorable stay and we will definitely return.
