I will not use your site again or recommend you because you do not give the exact location of the accommodation at the time of booking.. As a result we only discovered that the property was on a main trunk road after paying the full amount. While I appreciate you contacting me about this before we were due to go on holiday it was too late to rearrange. As I explained in my previous communication we are cyclists and we had no alternative but to cycle along this busy main road to reach smaller roads.
I have no complaint about our accommodation which was excellent or our hosts who were very welcoming and helpful. You need to provide accurate information at the time of booking as to the exact location of the properties that you advertise.

I originally booked to stay at Ty Camlad in March 2018 but due to unforeseen circumstances I had to postpone my stay and I luckily rebooked to stay in August 2018. It was definitely worth the wait! At first I was disappointed to hear that the piano was no longer in the barn as I am a keen player but that disappointment soon went out the window when I arrived as this barn conversion is stunning. Alan and Sandra have done an amazing job at bringing the barn back to life. I especially enjoyed sitting by the big window of a morning with a cuppa. This is the perfect place to come and relax an it was just what I need. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

It was a stunning barn conversion and the gardens were beautiful.. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and invited us to share their picturesque gardens. We enjoyed the lovely views from the lounge and the well equipped kitchen with its Aga which was a new experience for us! It was great to have two bathrooms and so much space overall. The surrounding countryside was beautiful and we enjoyed a wonderful week’s cycling. We would highly recommend a stay here!

Ty Camlad is a gem.. Alan,Sandra and Rebecca could not have done more to make us feel welcome and at home. The barn itself is magnificent and extremely well-equipped. One minor problem (which is beyond anyone’s control) is the noise of the road but it would be churlish to hold that against what is one of the finest holiday let’s that we have experienced. Our best Regards to Keith!

The barn far exceeded our expectations. It was very spacious and well equipped. The underfloor heating, Woodburning stove and electric AGA ensured the barn was always comfortably warm, in spite of sub zero temperatures and six inches of snow outside. Alan and Sandra are delightful hosts. The location is ideal for exploring the nearby Shropshire Hills.

Stayed here in February with my partner. The location is great as near a main road with good connections to North Wales and Shropshire. The barn itself is stunning, I loved how the owners have kept the character of the barn. It has a range oven which I had not used before, still prefer my electric oven not a convert. It wasn't the warmest of places, but then there is a huge room to heat. It does have a log burner which always makes it feel more cosy. The kitchen had all the things you would need There is a bath and shower, the bath is lovely however it takes a while for the water to heat up for the bath not the shower though (not sure why this is the case) the shower is hot and powerful. The owners were very lovely and gave tips and advice about walks and places to eat and happy to help with anything. We did get stuck in the snow and were towed by the owners tractor to the top of the road. Probably should have stayed another night as we got stuck in Hereford! All in all a great place to stay we will definitely return and hopeful with a dog next time Alan and Susan thankyou!

The difficulty of booking mentioned above was an issue with the online payment.. The website couldn't process the payment so I had to call and pay over the phone. Not a big issue but it was an issue.

An amazing barn conversion . On our arrival Sandra showed us around and explained about the Aga stove etc . The barn was lovely and warm all the time we were here . Beautiful views across the Camlad valley . The light changes all the time .
Alan can often be found with the two Corgis checking on the geese and sheep . Lovely place to relax in . We will definitely be back .

I attended this barn and had to leave a review as it was perfect. Clean, perfect location and a nice open plan kitchen / living space . cooking on the aga was great and Sandra and alan real should shout about it more as any wannabe aga owner ( myself) has a whole week to cook a range of meal on one. Sandra and alan where really friendly and have worked hard to make this place so nice , as they explain in a book about the barn conversion. . I love to know a bit about the history about the place im staying at.the local area has so much to see and Montgomery which is far away is a nice pretty town which has a great market .In Newtown town (the main town) there are something for anyone I attended the theatre which I really enjoyed.

One of the most friendliest welcomes we have had in years.. Nothing was too much trouble for the family. The barn is absolutely stunning in a beautiful and quiet part of the world. The owners are directly adjacent to the barn, but you feel you have your own area as it has been segregated off from the owners. Easy access to many areas in mid Wales. It's so nice not to have to clean utensils etc before use, everywhere was spotless. A suggestion to make the stay even better would be, it would be useful to have a small table with mirror in the bedroom and some blinds for privacy in the main barn. Even though it's not over looked. We had the most wonderful stay, lovely weather and would definitely return again.

The barn is exceptional and we were very comfortable, even more so because the owners are extremely pleasant and helpful. Ty Camlad is the best accommodation we've stayed in over several years of cottage holidays. The location is ideal for the Shropshire hills and exploring mid-Wales. Many thanks to the owners for making us so welcome, and providing such outstanding accommodation.

A superb holiday let, beautifully renovated with a very warm welcome from the owners. The property is huge with lots of space to spread out and the well equipped kitchen was great for cooking in. We also loved the wood burner and the grand piano, which really added to the luxurious feel of the property.

Ty Camlad is a stunning barn that has been refurbished to a luxurious standard with exposed wooden beams and breathtaking high ceilings. It is like stepping into your very own Grand Designs (complete with photo book to show the refurbishment!). The owners warmly welcomed us on arrival and provided lots of helpful ideas on where to visit during our short stay (including an OS map for walks which was useful to help navigation in the snow). The Stiperstones walk was beautiful, made even better by returning to light the log burner, and dry our walking boots by the Aga. We had the most relaxing peaceful break in an area of the country we didn't previously know. There was lots to do and our only regret was not staying longer than the short break. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ty Camlad to friends, family or anyone reading this review.

Above and beyond expectations, it was very warm welcoming on arrival and the barn conversion was amazing, everything we could wish for. We had a wonderful week - great places to visit, great days out then a beautiful cottage to return to. Cannot thank the owners enough for a great week in their barn conversion. Recommend this property very highly, could not fault it in any way.

The barn is ideally located to get easily into the Shropshire hills and to Offa's Dyke as walking was one of the reasons for visiting the area . It is also a quiet setting to relax and unwind. The Jones family were on hand if required to answer questions and helpfully provide some aga cookbooks in the property. The free log basket with others available to purchase thereafter is great although the property was snug with warmth from the aga so I did not use them. I will recommend the property to others without hesitation and am looking for dates to book in 2015.

This is a first class holiday let and of exceptional quality and comfort. We will have no hesitation in recommending to friends and are quite likely to visit again in the future ourselves. Of particular note was the friendliness of the owners who made our holiday extremely enjoyable. The whole area is wonderful. You should be grateful that the owners have chosen Sykes Cottages to advertise their holiday let.
