I stayed here as part of a group earlier in the year and wanted to add my review.
A stunning property, wonderful, helpful and friendly hosts, great layout and the covered hottub area is a superb idea! 10/10 for cleanliness and service!
Surrounding area is stunning and ripe for exploring, lots of well marked paths right next to the property. I highly recommend a walk up Great Rhos (the views are incredible) followed by good drink in the hottub!
Other walks include the Heart of Wales Line Trail which runs nearby, and the Llandegley Rocks area, for more beautiful views. For a day trip, you also can’t beat the A44 drive over the mountains to Aberystwyth, if you manage to arrive there just before sunset, you are in for quite a sight.
Lovely place, lovely area, will be back!

Had an amazing stay only thing we had issues with was the beds were not that comfy.. Also had a few issues with the hot tub however they sorted it promptly and even gave us a nice bottle of Moët to compensate.
Would definitely stay here again.

Hi was a beautiful cottage had a great stay.. Everything we hoped for, Elan valley a must to visit.
A couple of things needed some oven gloves. Barbeque needs updating was more of a fire bucket? Could do with a lock on the downstairs toilet.
Only minor things.

Great base for a holiday.. Plenty of walks, waterfalls, reservoirs and places to visit.
House was very Covid secure, all very clean including the hot tub.
Everything you could need was included in this lovingly converted old mill.
All photos accurately represent what you get in the property. Friendly owners who are on hand and service the hot tub daily (very early in the morning!).

David the owner was fabulous! Nothing was too much trouble and the house has everything we needed for us and the children! Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful weekend away at the Old Mill.. The accommodation was easy to find, with plenty of parking and in a quiet location. The layout of the property suited our needs perfectly. It was spacious, clean and warm. The furnishings were comfortable and we settled in well. The hot tub was a welcome treat and everyone benefitted from the relaxation it provided. Having it undercover facilitated its use, especially during the cold, crisp evenings.
The owners were both accessible, friendly and very approachable.
We have created many fabulous memories and would definitely recommend as well as return to the property.

We booked the old mill to celebrate both my own and another friends 30th birthday and made it a girly weekend away.. The cottage itself is beautiful and in tranquil surroundings. The owners could not have been more helpful and were on call whenever needed it was lovely to meet them in person instead of just communicating over the phone. I would definitely recommend the old mill and am looking to return with my family in the future.

The cottage was clean, well equipped and very comfortable (the beds were so comfortable, best nights sleep in a long time!) Wifi worked brilliantly well and the kitchen was stunning. Owners were easy to contact and ensured we had a good stay. Definitely recommend for a cosy weekend.

The Old Mill was fabulous! We had a week away over Christmas with 4 adults, 4 children and a dog! The property is gorgeous and the hot tub was great and well used by all. The space was great and we loved the kitchen dining front room downstaires. The owners put two christmas trees up for us which was a great a touch and we were met with mince pies and mulled wine. Loved it

It's a fabulous building which photographs cannot replicate.. All the rooms are furnished to a very high standard. The hot tub is massive and fab! The only drawback was that the garden wasn't fully enclosed so we had to keep a watch on our dog but we just loved The Mill

We have just returned from a week long holiday at The Old Mill and we had an awesome time.. The Mill is set back from the main road in a very beautiful rural setting. The accommodation is a real home away from home - very roomy and well equipped with everything one needs (and more) for a comfortable break. We holidayed with 3 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room. The children loved exploring the garden and stream - there is also a gate leading into the woods which takes you on a walk. We also loved the hot tub after a long day out sight seeing! Llandrindod Wells is a 15 min drive away with a large Tesco - I registered for delivery and pre-ordered my shopping to arrive at the Mill on day 1. There's also a great real ale micropub ‘Arvon Ales’, ‘Zeera’ Indian restaurant and a BBQ restaurant ‘Worth Your Salt Barbecue’ that are worth visiting! There is so much to do in the area that we wished we could have stayed another week - the Red Kite Feeding Station in Rhayader is a must. Hay-on-wye is 45 mins away, Aberystwyth is a little over an hour and has a great Victorian cliff railway, and the Elan Valley if you fancy stretching your legs as there are loads of walks around the hillside and dams. Overall I would definitely recommend The Old Mill for a peaceful relaxing holiday and will definitely consider booking again.

The house was laid out a little strange.. The main sitting area was on the first floor which backs onto the double room for kids. Needless to say this was not used much by the adults at night as we would have kept a the kids awake watching tv or having the tv on. I constantly hit my head on low beams in the top floor as I am 6ft 2 and needed to keep reminding myself to duck under these. The house was constantly full of flies, on the last day I counted some 50 on one fly paper trap we had set up the day before, sadly they were coming in internally as we kep the windows and doors shut for the day. I feel the owner would know about this as flypaper and sprays have been left by other customers. Wifi was poor which was disappointing as this is a basic requirement. The kids enjoyed themselves here, I had a great holiday, sadly I felt it was overpriced for the issues I have outlined above. However, it’s classed as a luxury property-that’s why my expectations were high. 6 out of 10.

Just returned from The Old Mill and have had a fantastic relaxed week.. Superb accommodation over three floors, really comfy beds, luxurious hot tub with nearly constant views of the red kites that inhabit the area.
The kitchen was a delight, really modern with everything you could need. The owners made us feel really welcome with Welsh cakes, tea, coffee, milk and flowers provided to welcome us. Truly first class!

As a family of 6 we visited here during the February half term. Considering this is rural Powys the cottage was easy enough to get to and is well served by a main road that is far enough away from the house to not disturb you.
When we arrived we were met by the friendly owners and shown around the Old Mill. It is very well furnished and finished, and it is obvious that the owners have put a lot of thought and care into making a comfortable home.
Pros
The cottage is very spacious - we were never on top of each other.
The hot tub is under cover but still has a pleasant view and felt 'outside'.
The owners were very friendly and helpful.
Tesco deliver here.
Cons
There wasn't anything to spoil the holiday
There are a lot is stairs as the Mill has 3 floors so this would be an issue if you struggle with stair's, although there is a bathroom on the ground floor.
As you would expect this has some low beams and doorways - mainly on the top floor.
Overall this is the perfect place for a quiet country get away surrounded by fields and walks if you want to get out but plenty of space and comfort if you want to stay in.

We had a really great holiday in this old mill, we loved the features and enjoyed cooking and eating as a family in the kitchen.. We enjoyed cosy evenings in the upper lounge and also had a great time using the hot tub and enjoying the quiet and the surrounding countryside. The only blip was problems with the WiFi as we run a business we rely on good connection to check business emails. The hosts were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Also we were blessed with great weather and we really enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend and will return.
