Stunning views from a very cleverly designed plot. Even though there are other huts (and further hobbit houses being built as of Oct 2020) it still feels like you have privacy. The layout of the hut is exceptional with every piece of it used to great effect. The bed is surprisingly comfortable and the heating, my main concern about these type of stays, was toasty warm and effective throughout. Very pretty design and touches. Well proportioned, with all the equipment one would need for a stay, including fresh milk supplied. There were a few small niggles - sent directly to Sykes Cottages - that stopped me giving 5 stars - but you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed at all with a stay here and all small things easily rectified should the owners chose to and likely due to a back to back season because of Covid. Would stay again and recommend without hesitation.

Just stayed at one of the Shepard’s huts, it was AMAZING!! The pictures don’t do justice on the view from the hotub. So relaxing, Gemma was only a text away if we needed anything! Although we got caught up in storm Hannah we still thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the enclosed garden (although one of my rascals found a way out, but he always does!!) Defiantly coming back!!!!

We had a wonderful weekend break at Shepherds View.. The cabin had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The location is excellent for long walks in the Elan Valley, and to also grab a drink in the lovely little pubs just up the road in Rhayader. After that then you get to relax and unwind in the hot tub surrounded by the beautiful views. I would definitely recommend Shepherds View to family and friends. We had a great time !

We had a fantastic stay over New Year's Eve.. The view from the hut is incredible and we loved spending each morning sat in the hot tub watching the red kites soar in the sky. It's a real treat to be in the middle of the countryside but have the modern luxury of Shepherd's view. It is so comfortable inside and has absolutely everything you need. Everybody involved and associated with the pods was fantastic and very helpful. When we accidentally blew a fuse in the hut (completely our fault!!), Gemma was so kind and professional on the phone and someone was over to resolve the issue in less than 5 minutes. We even met the owners Mother in Law when we accidentally drove on to her farm trying to find the place (a little on that below). She was so kind and hopped straight into her car and led us to where we needed to be. Only advice to those visiting would be to ignore the directions (which I presume are automatically generated by Sykes). Given that we were headed to a reasonably remote location, we thought it was better to use the directions than follow google maps, but the directions are useless and are just very vague directions to the postcode (which takes you to a farm slightly down the road). If you type in "Gellilas" to google maps, it will take you exactly to where you need to be. Overall, a brilliant break away and we will definitely be coming back!! It was cloudy whilst we were there but I bet the stars on a clear night are worth the return visit!

We loved our stay at Shepherd’s View! It had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The hot tub was awesome and our pup loved the space he had to run around and watch the sheep from a safe distance! Have already recommended it to friends and can’t wait to return soon!

Sheperds View is a delightful little cabin with all you need for a comfortable holiday very small and compact with nice size shower.. I wouldnt say suitable for complete self catering If complex meals are required but with thought and planning suitable. Very clean on arrival with a nice enclosed garden not overlooking anyone else. The Hot tub is superb with views from the cabin absolutly stunning. lots of walking to anyone's ability within a short distance and a lovely town with an assortment of shops and eating places. My one thought would be If you are elderly there are steps to get into the cabin and the bed is faily hefty to lift up in the morning but not a problem If fairly fit and able. Added pleasure the Red Kites flying overhead every day. In all a very nice holiday restful and pleasant we would certainly return.

Excellent website, easy to navigate - lots of information and pictures to help you choose.. The accommodation we went to exceeded our expectation. Beautiful stunning scenery, quiet and peaceful. Exceptionally clean and tidy, cute shepherds hut - with everything you'd need for 2 people...and the private hot tub was utter luxury. Worth every penny, would love to go back.

The hut was perfect, it had everything we needed and more, it was clean and well thought out.. The hot tub was great and the views were amazing! Our Jack Russell loved playing in the garden, which was enclosed and safe for him to run around without escaping. We had a lovely mini holiday, thank you.

Recently stayed here and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The views are breath taking and it is so cosy inside. It has everything you would need for a break for two. Our dog absolutely loved the enclosed garden space and there were plenty of picturesque walks within 15 miles. Already looked at booking again for next year and would highly recommend.

It's a marvellous setting with a great view and we were blessed with a week of warm sunshine.. The hut is rather small and we were grateful fo the good weather and enclosed yard/garden with dog proof fences..especially important with a field of sheep around us, and Red Kites flying overhead. As a new development the hut is well equipped...all round though as it is their first summer a few teething glitches. The family and staff who run the site were great. The WiFi was down for the first couple of days but then was fine.We found the cooker and hop really difficult to operate... It was unneccessarily modern and Hi Tec with impenetrable instructions. Lots to do locally.. especially if you like nature and the great outdoors... walks around the Red Kite feeding centre , Elan Valley Reservoirs and the local nature reserve and riverside in town..and it would have been good to have had our ride on the Vale of Rheeidol Railway - we got there and saw the train arrive but the return service was cancelled because of a lineside fire.

I booked this holiday for me and my partner to go away for a valentines break with our dog.. I booked Shepherds View because it looked like nothing i've seen before and it was different but at the same time - very modern. The whole week was amazing from start to finish. The one thing I was a little wary of was how small it looked, but I can honestly say its a lot bigger and spacious than it might look! Its got great facilities inside, the bed is very very comfy, its modern from top to bottom and we loved it. The place itself, is so remote, if you have a dog it is ideal - There is big open fields everywhere for them to run wild! The hot tub is huge and is so nice to relax in, in the evening or the afternoon. it is very easy to use and does everything you would ask of a hot tub! The owners are so helpful, kind and also very reachable via text or phone! They were lovely to us all week. So all in all I can highly recommend this place, the other pods look stunning too, all with private hot tubs. There is a town literally 3 minutes drive down the road with everything you need, with a big Tesco and Aldi also only 15 minutes away. We will more than likely come back and fetch other members of the family too!

We have recently returned from a 3 night stay at Shepherds View and we are already looking forward to returning.. The hut itself is stunning! It is finished to a very high standard and looks out over the most stunning views, the hot tub is an added bonus. It is a short drive into the town of Rhayader which has a local Spar shop and some lovely pubs (we ate at the Lamb & Flag which was lovely) Communication with the owners was extremely easy and they were happy to help with any questions we had. Thank you for such a lovely stay we look forward to returning.
