If you've simply run low on supplies, discover boutique clothes shops, antique dealers, pubs and restaurants and books shops galore at Hay on Wye, just 4 miles away. Extremely remote and difficult to access in extreme weather conditions be prepared to walk if necessary (boots needed in muddy weather). Having negotiated the track to this cottage you will not be disappointed. The spectacular views are like being on top of the world, whilst the characterful interiors feel like a trip back in time. With its original bread oven alongside the attractive open fire and the huge oak beams this traditional stone cottage has a cosy, timeless feel. The open plan downstairs has a lovely stone tile floor and the kitchen has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer and a large window with far reaching views. Huge oak posts divide the kitchen from the rest of the living area that contains the sitting and dining section. The living area features an oak over mantle over a stone fireplace with its original bread oven, whilst oak beams, low ceilings and stone windowsills throughout echo the traditional decor. The dining table seats three, and the comfortable sofa and reclining chairs face the open fire, the perfect place from which to enjoy a film. Climb the relatively steep flight of stairs to the two bedrooms and the bathroom. The master bedroom has a double bed and exposed beams, as does the second single room, whilst the spacious bathroom has a large shower. Visit the pub 1 mile away, and a shop and restaurant 4 miles away.
