Holiday Rental Description

This charming stone cottage, set within a working farm, provides spacious accommodation ideal for families and groups of friends eager to explore the stunning local scenery and activities. Located just a mile from the tranquil village of Painscastle, with its welcoming village inn, the cottage is perfectly positioned near the Begwns (3 miles), 580 acres of National Trust land offering rolling hills and panoramic views of the Brecon Beacons National Park. For adventure enthusiasts, the Brecon Beacons (7 miles) and the River Wye offer a range of outdoor activities, from canoeing and high rope courses to gorge walking. The nearby town of Hay on Wye (6 miles), famous for its International Book Festival, also features an arthouse cinema, The Globe at Hay, as well as a selection of second hand bookshops and independent stores. Upon arrival at the farm, you'll enjoy breathtaking valley views before entering the retreat through French doors into a welcoming lobby. Kick off your boots and step into the heart of the cottage: a spacious kitchen/diner, designed for entertaining, complete with an open plan kitchen, a cosy wood burner, and a large dining table that seats up to eight guests, all set against the backdrop of the valley. At the rear of the cottage, a small set of steps leads to a shower room, a double bedroom, and a large twin bedroom that includes a daybed for extra relaxation, and also features an en suite bathroom with a handheld shower. Upstairs, the large lounge invites guests to unwind on comfortable sofas in front of the TV, or retreat to a cosy nook perfect for board games or enjoying a good book. This floor also includes a double bedroom, a twin room with a vanity sink, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside, guests can fire up the BBQ and enjoy alfresco dining at the outdoor table and chairs. The garden also provides access to the surrounding woodland and countryside, making it easy to explore the beautiful landscape right on your doorstep.
