Holiday Rental Description

Attached to the owner s property, this rural escape is set on a working farm with wonderful walks straight from the doorstep. With woodlands and a Site of Special Scientific Interest along the Nant Menascin River running through the farm, lace up your walking boots for days exploring your stunning surroundings. There are waterfalls and river pools for wild swimming and in the spring visit the bluebell wood for a stroll through the tranquil trees. Footpaths across the farm lead straight into the Brecon Beacons making this the ideal destination for keen walkers. The Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal runs through the village of Llanfrynach (2 miles) for peaceful walks along the towpath while the cathedral town of Brecon (5 miles) has a host of independent stores and welcoming pubs and restaurants. Stroll the quaint streets and take a leisurely boat trip along the canal, spotting the abundant wildlife along the banks. For a relaxing afternoon, head to Cantref Adventure Farm (2 miles) and hop in the saddle for a pony trek through the rolling landscape. Situated adjacent to the owner s property, although privacy is assured, this charming cottage sits on the farmyard courtyard. Step up and through the front door and into the warm and inviting interior where a wealth of original features has been retained, including exposed brickwork and ceiling beams. The lounge/diner is a welcoming space with polished wooden floors covered with colourful rugs and local landscapes adorning the walls. Curl up on the sofa and watch the latest programmes on SkyTV or a film on the DVD player. Light the wood burner for a cosy night in, enjoying a glass of wine as the flames flicker. The oak kitchen is compact but well designed equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Enjoy meals at the centrally positioned dining table. Completing the ground floor accommodation is a stylish shower room. When it s time for bed, ascend the very steep oak stairs to the cosy king size bedroom with fabulous views across to the Black Mountains and drift off to sleep beneath the sloped ceiling. A beautiful oak door opens out and down a step onto a private stone slabbed patio with BBQ and garden furniture where you can dine alfresco and enjoy the views across to Pen y Fan. With no light pollution, enjoy a spot of stargazing in the clear night skies. The owner of the farm is happy to give guests a tour of the farm and to see the animals. Within 500 metres of the property is the River Menascin for picnics and swimming. A field is located below the cottage for guests who have friends wishing to camp. Stabling is available for horses by arrangement with the owner.
