If it were not for some significant issues with the hosts of this house, we would have had a lovely stay in Ty Melyn. After our arrival, following a mistake I had made with booking that could have been solved with little fuss, we received incessant phone calls from the hosts. They made completely unreasonable demands of us, in a frankly aggressive manner, that added a lot of stress to what should have been a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
Furthermore, it came to light that the hosts had a CCTV camera on the property that they would watch, and contact us about our activities, none of which were causing any damage or wrongdoing. Naturally, this made us feel extremely uncomfortable and caused us to feel watched and spied upon in our private space. I had to wonder where else there might be cameras that we didn't know about!
Ty Melyn was very clean and well kept when we arrived, and I consider it good manners to leave a property in the same state we found it. Therefore, we spent a great deal of time cleaning the house and garden before departure. However, on asking for the return of our deposit, we had unreasonable amounts of money deducted for things I know for certain were not true, such as dog mess in the garden when I myself had scrupulously cleaned and checked the garden for any such mess.
Overall, the property is beautiful and in a stunning location, but I could not warn anyone enough about not staying here as a result of the way the hosts behaved towards us. I would highly recommend a stay in this area, but certainly not in Ty Melyn.
