• "What a beautiful home and in a fantastic spot."

  Beautiful views like artwork from the windows of the house. Lovely comfortable living room with log burner and fabulous size kitchen with plenty of room for all our party (7 of us) bedrooms all lovely and v v comfy beds. Little blip on the Friday evening with heating but owner responded immediately and did everything he could to rectify the situation.

• "We booked at short notice for a family short break."

  The property is fantastic, well furnished and had everything we could have asked for. Even on a cold January weekend, the hot tub was a great way to spend the evenings. Great communication from owner too who was ready to help with any queries. We will be back.

• "The let is fab for a long break."

  It’s located at the top of a caravan park which was closed during our New Year stay, but the land owner clearly has issues with cars who don’t park in the property. Would benefit from a Butter dish and oven gloves, otherwise it’s 5 stars all round from us.

  Thank you for this feedback, Mr T … yes the site-owner can be a little grumpy where cars & parking are concerned & I can only apologise if he was anything less than neighbourly. Thankfully there is parking space in the driveway for 3-4 cars, which is usually ok for most guests. Surprised to hear that oven gloves are low - there were at least 3 pairs before Xmas - will re-stock - and the butter-dish has been ordered! Property Owner

• "We have just returned from 6 nights stay at this beautiful property."

  It has everything we needed for a relaxing stay, comfy beds, and plenty of space for the whole family- 6 adults 2 teenagers and 4 dogs. The hot tub added a little extra luxury ( the cover was heavy and probably needs replacing). Communication with the owner was great, he was very responsive and helpful. We will definitely return....what a fantastic property.

• "We had a great family holiday with 3 generations."

  It was everything we needed and was very well stocked with crockery and utensils. We loved all getting together in the lounge or the dining table. The children could be in a different room if they wanted to. We loved the location, easy walk to the village and the beaches.

  We had an amazing stay at Hafod Heli the property is beautiful with lovely furniture and art work loved it there was plenty of room for 4 adults 2 infants and 4 dogs we all had are own space if needed and the garden was brilliant with lots of furniture and cushions we had a couple of glitches that Kevan the owner sorted out quickly thanks again for that Kevan I would say that the cottage just needs some TLC there was plenty of crockery and cutlery which is a help I’ve been to a few different cottages and sometimes they don’t have enough we would love to come back in the future Rhosniger is an amazing place

• "Great property for our 3 generation holiday."

  Plenty of space and very comfortable. Everything we needed to cook family meals and the outdoor area was secure and very private. The hot tub was well used as the weather was mixed. The front door opened into a conservatory which was brilliant for leaving sandy shoes and beach bags. We didn’t really use the lounge as we spend all our time in the open plan kitchen, dining and living room. My only negative comment is that the downstairs bedroom was very warm as the window doesn’t open. Perhaps a fan could be left in this room. I would definitely book a stay for us all in Hafod Heli in the future. Some great memories made here. Thankyou

• "Beautiful place loved seeing the red arrows and the other planes ."

  Had a problem with the hot water while we stayed but after a message to the owner was sorted right out . It’s a short walk to the beach and shops and plenty to do that’s just a little drive away . Although the hot tub was lovely it could do with a few fixes or maybe a new one as you can’t change some of the jet settings they were broken which is a shame as they were to powerful for some of us and you couldn’t turn them down but that didn’t stop us enjoying our stay at Hafod Heli . We recommend staying here and we will definitely be booking again in the future

• "The location of this property is excellent."

  You get to it through a well maintained caravan park. This was our first time staying on Anglesey, we wanted to be able to park our car and walk everywhere, and this was achievable. We had a short walk to the beach, we were lucky with the weather so went at least twice a day. Walking distance to the local shops and Mojo’s is definitely worth a visit, lovely food a few drinks and a gentle walk home. The chip shop was also very good. We were a little disappointed with the property, we could tell from the listing that in its day it been stunning but is currently (in our opinion) in need of some TLC. I spoke to the owner of the property about the issues we had and he was very responsive. The reviews we read about the garden, freezer and dishwasher were still not fixed when we stayed but having spoken to the owner and shared some photos so he understood the extent he was going to sort them ASAP along with the problems we highlighted. The garden furniture wasn't as described which was a real shame for us, we like to make the most of the outside space, the garden has a real suntrap and with 7 of us we felt it was important to be able to utilize the space to the max and all be comfortable. I do believe if the issues we experienced are sorted, then this will once again be a beautiful property in a great location with a very secure garden for children and dogs. Highly recommend a drive out to The Oyster Catcher for food, great atmosphere and a lovely walk on the beach.

• "Lovely spacious house which was perfect for our family of 6 adults, 1 toddler, a baby and 3 dogs."

  The house is great for big groups and has been tastefully decorated throughout. The kitchen was really well equipped with everything we needed although a set of Fizz flutes would have been good. Outside the garden was fully secure for our dogs and the kennel was a great addition. The garden itself is a perfect sun trap and we enjoyed the hot and playing table tennis. Located a short walk from the beach and the main village with a few shops and cafes the location was great.

• "We had an amazing time at this cottage and Rhosneigr, decent size well furnished double bedrooms especially the downstairs bedroom."

  Well maintained bathrooms. The cottage itself is very spacious with 2 lounge areas. Wonderful wood fire in the main lounge. The hot tub is huge and relaxing. Just a few snags which I think have already been highlighted in previous reviews is that the Freezer needed a major defrost, the cooker/oven and outside bbq could do with a deep clean. We did have to rewash crockery as some looked like they had been put away dirty but I don't think this is the owners fault. Overall great location near the beach and small high street of shops and eateries. Would really recommend sandy mount house for a meal and the oyster catcher which is on an amazing dune beach both short distances away and walkable in more pleasant weather. Newborough forest and beach is amazing for everyone, such a lovely place where the forest meets the beach, and the walk to the lighthouse its well worth the views and walk. I would definitely return and visit other parts of Anglesey.

• "We loved the house, it was beautiful and in a great setting."

  Fantastic for our party of 4, we had 2 bedrooms unused but like big spaces. Great for the dogs, close to town, great pubs, shops, places to eat snd beaches and walks on your doorstep, house is beautifuly decorated. Comfy beds. Would highly recommended and you won't be disappointed. Garden is also great for the dogs. Couple of things for the owner to note which they probably font know about. Freezer needs defrosting as top shelf is unusable. No bin bags in any bins cooker needs a good clean. BBQ outside needs a deep clean. That said there minor snagging issues and probably unknown to the owner, and should not takeaway its a fantastic property. Would 100% go back we loved it and would highly recommended it. • "We had a fabulous week and the house was lovely."

  I have already raised with the owner that the crockery and glassware need a review but that is only a minor issue that did not distract from a lovely break. Even with a raging storm the house was warm and welcoming. Would love to come back.

• "Just arrived home today after our weeks stay at Hafod Heli."

  We have stayed in Anglesey many times but this is one of the nicest homes we have stayed in. Super comfortable beds, lovely showers, so much space and the snug was great to settle in with the log burner and the big tv in the evenings. Great location too, it was lovely just to be able to walk into the centre for great cafes and restaurants and our dogs loved the beach! Hope to come back at some point, thank you

• "The house was as expected."

  .fabulous. Beautifully furnished. The garden furniture sadly did not reflect the photograph and some was in need of replacing. Plus, this was the first time ever we had an extra cost added for the use of the hot tub. Never, ever had that before always been covered in the cost of the property we have rented. However, this did not stop us having a fab time. Almost everything we required was catered for (I did have to purchase some oven gloves but who cares it’s a minor thing) lovely location for beaches, pubs and cafes and a short walk into Rhosneigr. We had the best family time , all 9 of us, staying at Hafod Heli. Thank you

  Thank you, Mr F, for your feedback. I'm over the moon that you & your family had the best time & thought HH to be fabulous. We do work extremely hard to make & keep it so. It's true that some of the garden furniture has taken a bit of a battering over the winter & has now been removed. I hope this didn't detract too much from your enjoyment. As for the hot-tub; it's now not uncommon, given the significant rise in energy costs, to make it an option at the outset for guests to choose whether they want use of it or not. There is a significant cost in the service and heating of a hot tub each time a new group wants it, and some guests don't actually want it; it seems fair that those that don't want it can opt out and those that do can opt in. It would be not only costly but also negligent, in my opinion, to supply a heated tub during the stay of a group that doesn't want to use it; and it also saves them the cost. For this reason, we offer it as an added optional extra. This is clear at the booking stage, so I'm a little confused as to your comment regarding this as I'm assuming you knew about it when you booked. Property Owner

• "We had a fantastic stay at Hafod Heli."

  The house is stunning and has everything you could imagine! The location is great, a short walk to the beach and centre of the town. Also, great for our children to watch the planes at RAF Valley! The garden and outdoor furniture could use a bit of TLC, but the space is great and private. We will return!

• "An extremely well laid out property."

  Plenty of room for everyone. The 2 large televisions were great for the older and younger generations. Kitchen had plenty of utensils, although a knife sharpener would have been useful. Great range of glasses, plates and large mugs. Well equipped with domestic appliances although the dishwasher was falling away from its housing when we arrived and got worse after a couple of days. We did a temporary fix and reported to Lorraine.Hot tub was great, however some jets were not working and the filter cover was floating around in the hot tub when we arrived. The gas bbq was really good but we had to clean it before use has it was dirty when we arrived. The locks to the dog house,back door and front door could do with some attention has difficult to lock.These were minor issues and did not detract from a lovely time we had in the house but thought it would be helpful for you to know. Thank you for a great week’s holiday in Hafod Heli.

• "Fantastic holiday home."

  We stayed as a large family group of 3 generations with our dogs. Beautifully decorated, very spacious, walking distance to a quiet sandy beach. The snug room was brilliant for a large family to play games together with a huge curved sofa. ( The only very small point we would make, is it would have been great to have small bins in the bedrooms. )

• "We had a fab week here in April 23 and loved it."

  Very spacious for the 9 of us there and a dog. With 2 young children the garden was great, and hot tub and added bonus for us adults. The beach was a short distance walk away, which was beautiful and even on the wet a windy dy days, we had games in the cupboards to enjoy which was a lovely touch. Highly recommended and will defiantly return.

  My family have been coming to Anglesey for years and have stayed in many houses across the island so we have high expectations! Hafod Heli has been done to a great standard with some thoughtful touches! Super comfortable beds, modern kitchen and bathrooms (all cleaned to a really high standard too), hot tub outside under cover, enclosed garden for dogs and a living area suitable for a large group. There was also a cinema type room which was great for watching a family film! The location is also perfect, walking distance to the beach and to Rhosneigr where shops, restaurants and good coffee can be found! Thanks for a great stay!

  Fabulous holiday property with everything we needed for a wonderful family stay. Having the main lounge & the kitchen snug were ideal for everyone to enjoy - especially with the new supersized TV & sofa. We absolutely loved the hot tub (even in February). A little issue with the heating was resolved immediately by the owner. Overall a perfect place to celebrate with our family & make beautiful memories.

• "We had a brilliant stay here last weekend."

  The house is lovely with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The kitchen facilities are excellent, although not all of the bathrooms had soap which we had to buy. The bedrooms are gorgeous and the beds are really comfy which is the most important thing in a holiday home in my personal opinion. If you don't get a good night's sleep it's not really a restful holiday! The beach is only a short walk away which is fantastic for the dogs and plenty of places to eat a ten minute walk away. Overall a really lovely stay and we will definitely book again!

• "This is a beautiful house, clean and welcoming."

  The kitchen, dining and family area was fantastic for family gatherings. The snug is beautifully presented with two picture windows and a log burner which we lit every night. The ground floor bedroom is stunning. The family enjoyed the hot tub. Welcome bottle of wine and cake waiting for us on arrival. The owner is very proud of his property and is eager for his quests to enjoy their stay. He wants to know of any hiccups and the housekeeper can be contacted at anytime if you need help or assistance. If I win the lottery I would put in an offer for this house!

• "The property wasn’t clean."

  We arrived at 4.30pm and the cleaner was just leaving. We entered the house to find wet floors. Once we got into the property we found: The kitchen cupboards had not been cleaned inside. Crumbs and stuff in the cutlery tray The extractor was thick with grease The oven needs a professional clean The toilet in en-suite had vomit around the bowl Skirting boards were thick with dust Dishwasher tray was broken - we found the wheels in the cupboard The hot tub had not been cleaned - sand in the bottom Pizza oven wasn’t emptied Table tennis net was broken and only 1 squashed ball! Garden not cleared of leaves and rubbish The list goes on…. This was extremely disappointing considering how much we paid for the week. Such a shame as the location was great and the layout of the property was perfect. It just needs some care and attention.

  Thank you for this feedback, Mrs W; the cleanliness of Hafod Heli for our guests is of absolute paramount importance to us & I am crestfallen and astounded at this litany of complaints ?? especially the detail about the vomit around the en-suite toilet. I am surprised you didnt walk out straight away or at the very least, contact the housekeeper or myself or Menai/Sykes immediately (all our contact details are in the folder in the kitchen). It would also have been really helpful if you had gathered photographic evidence so there could be no ambiguity. If this is what you were faced with upon arrival, I apologise unreservedly. Such a situation is completely unacceptable. I âm shocked that you did accept it without complaint or comment at the time. We would have responded immediately and rectified the situation if notified. Our housekeeping team (which includes cleaners and the hot-tub man) begin their work at 11am on changeover days and are there until 4pm cleaning, changing bedding and towels, re-stocking toilet tissue in each bathroom, putting out the Welcome Pack (which I hope you enjoyed, at least), tidying up the outside and servicing/cleaning the hot-tub (which is done at every changeover and takes several hours). This team has over a long period delivered a consistently high service in terms of ensuring the accommodation is spotless for the arrival of new guests. I have, nevertheless, referred your comments to them and they will endeavour to ensure the highest of standards are maintained going forward. If these matters had been reported at the time, we would have immediately responded and rectified them. Again, I apologise for this unacceptable situation. Property Owner

• "We were a party of eight ages ranging from 13 to 71."

  Hafod heli offered us a brilliant base for our holiday. We could not fault the facilities in the house and we all enjoyed the gas bbq, hot tub and the table tennis was a real hit with all the family unfortunately we didn't take up the opportunity to use the pizza oven because we felt it needed a deep clean! The beds were unbelievably comfortable. Kitchen offered everything we needed and having Sky TV was a real bonus in the evening We had one dog with us and I enjoyed the walk along the golf course every morning. Having a display by the Red Arrows above us on the Thursday added to this very special week at Hafod heli We would happily recommend this holiday cottage

• "The house was well equipped and really comfortable."

  We had a great week-end as the kids loved the table tennis and the beach and we all loved the hot tub. Lived up to our expectations and beyond. very minor points :- the website address in your book was incorrect but we found a card on the mantlepiece with the password. Dining room chairs a little wobbly and the sink in the master bathroom does not hold water.

• "We had such a brilliant stay."

  Location perfect for 2 families of 4 adults and 5 children. Safe environment being at the top of a quiet caravan site, whereby the children could go out on their bikes etc. just a short walk over to the other side is RAF Valley which we loved going to sit on top of the dunes and watch the jets. House was lovely and warm, very comfortable and had everything you need. Very well equipped kitchen. Would love to come back. Thank you

• "A fantastic week in Anglesey staying in the superb Hafod Heli."

  The house is perfect, a real home from home with all the facilities you need and more. Lovely and clean and very well equipped. It is just a short walk to the most beautiful beach and a small selection of shops and restaurants. I know this has been said before and not a criticism of the house at all, but a small map with directions to the house would be very helpful.. it was extremely difficult to find in the dark, and very frustrating after a long drive- but once you know where it is it’s absolutely fine.

• "We stayed here for our 50th Anniversary from Friday 4th March to Monday 7th."

  We had 5 adults and 5 older grandchildren.We went for walks in the beautiful surroundings each morning and when we got back after lunch we used the facilities which were wonderful.We all loved the hot tub ..We had tournaments playing the table tennis .Also we played on the large connect 4in the garden.We played cards in the night and listened to music.We all loved your house and hope to go agin sometime.Thanks so much.x
