Resting on the outskirts of the idyllic village of Llanfachraeth, Cwch Gwenyn makes an enchanting base for your family retreat to Wales.

A semi-detached, stone-built barn conversion still boasting much of its traditional charm, this cottage provides a truly tranquil escape at any time of year.

Enter into the open-plan living space, making a delightful spot to host all of your social occasions, with its wooden beams and rustic furnishings adding homely character to the room, here you can create everlasting memories with your loved ones when you're not exploring the excitement of the Isle of Anglesey.

The kitchen area provides all the essentials for your self-catered stay, with a dining table at its centre making a great place to come together and toast to a wonderful holiday, when you're not using this space as an area to play board games in the evenings.

The sitting area is an extremely snug spot, with a woodburning stove providing a welcoming warmth in the winter months as you settle together around the television for a family film night.

A bedroom can be found on both the ground floor and the first floor, both with double beds, the ground floor bedroom offers its own en-suite shower room, whilst the quirky mezzanine first-floor bedroom boasts a roll-top bath with a handheld shower sat beneath the beams of the room, with an en-suite basin and WC for your convenience.

In the summer months, the patio makes a delightful area to sit out with a rewarding beverage and watch the sun go down; a wonderful end to any day of your tranquil retreat.

The local area of Llanfachraeth holds all the essentials of a local shop and pub, as well as ample walking, cycling and nature-spotting opportunities.

The Isle of Anglesey itself is also rich in history, making it a wonderful spot from which to discover Wales, as well as boasting sandy beaches, ferry trips to the excitement of Ireland and easy access to mainland Wales and all its glory.

LLANFACHRAETH

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 7 miles.

The village of Llanfachraeth, lies on Anglesey’s west coast and is named after a sixth century saint, St Machraeth. The village is set on the banks of the river Alaw, which flows from the Llyn Alaw reservoir, where it is possible to fish for coarse and game fish and salmon. Amidst spectacular cliffs and sandy beaches, this small village provides a local shop and pub, while the surrounding countryside boasts excellent fishing, birdwatching and coastal walks, with climbing on offer on the mainland in Snowdonia. Indulge in fabulous watersports, including kitesurfing, diving and sailing at the stunning Rhosneigr beach, or enjoy 18 holes at a choice of three local golf courses. Spend the day at Anglesey Sea Zoo, visit the historic town of Beaumaris with its medieval castle and array of shops and restaurants, take a boat trip past NT Plas Newydd country house or indulge in a day trip to Ireland. A wonderful, all year round holiday location.
