Unfortunately we were beyond disappointed. On the day of arrival we were already 90 mins late but the owner advised that he had just painted the shower room floor and could we not use the toilet. After a 3 hour drive not ideal. Tiny...not as big as my garage. Not a bedroom but a studio. Broken kitchen doors and drawers. It said SKY TV but only a firestick. Patio door hadn't got a safety stopper so we both caught our hands in it. Luckily no medical intervention required. The photos show a window and conservatory...which we thought was ours..not the case it was next doors so no privacy in the courtyard where the hot tub was situated. I have made a 14 pointed complaint to the booking company but to mo avail. Bed was broken supported by some wood. No space at all. Three portable heaters therefore having to move stuff to do stuff.

Smithy cottage is a small but very cosy cottage.. Very well equipped, has all that you need.Furnishing of a high standard.Spotlessly clean.Owners D.J and Lee made us feel us welcome and at at hand if any problems.Hot tub one of the best we used. Our dog Timo settled very .quickly .Cemaes a very pretty place, a dog friendly beach and a park walk.So glad we went there,in this time of stress, was nice for the peace and relaxation

The owner welcomed us on arrival and explained that he lived locally and if we needed anything, just ring him.. We, and our dog, really enjoyed our visit to Anglesey, the cottage was a bonus, thanks.

Really enjoyed the Smithy it was cosy, comfy and exceptionally clean.. It was beautifully furnished, adequately equipped for two and the bed was really comfy. I felt safe inside the locked courtyard and a screen across the overlooking windows made the hot tub area private. Cemaes village is small but has everything you need for an enjoyable weekend with stunning scenery and some beautiful walks. Really relaxing break.

The place was very well presented.. And was lively to stay in. Nothing wrong with it at all. And was within walking distance to anything and everything you needed, shops pubs restaurants. The only thing I was a little put off buy was the position of the hot tub. As it was right underneath nextdoors window. So didnt feel very private. But all in all very lovely stay. And wish we had longer there

Stayed at Smithy Cottage in March. Owners extremely helpful and friendly so everything clear on where to find things on arrival. Lovely clean accommodation with everything you needed. Best hot tub we have had, warm and so relaxing. Had our two dogs with us and it was ideal having the enclosed safe garden. Dogs settled very quickly. Nice beach area and good fish and chip shop. Locals we came across very friendly too. Would definitely recommend. We had no problem with privacy as the outdoor area is enclosed and a screen is up so neighbours can’t see in. Also heaters very efficient so we were very cosy. Would go back.

The cottage was really cosy , the small heaters are all you need in there and the place warms up so fast ! . Everything is super modern and more than you’d expect . The fridge and freezer was a little noisy and the odd sound from the next door but really you barely notice them. The place was nice and private for the most part the hot hub maybe could use a bit more privacy but all in all it was lovely with being only a few minutes walk to amazing walks and even better views . Only massive downside to the whole experience wasn’t anything to do with the cottage but the shop in the village ! I advise everyone to bring everything you need to eat and drink as that shop it crazy pricey ! Even so would 100% recommend this lovely little cottage for a nice get-away

The holiday cottage itself is a boutique style which is nice.. But the pictures you have are out of date and need updating. I have read the past reviews and certain things need correcting. The cooker hood needed cleaning, the TV in the bedroom didn't work, and the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall, plus the extractor fan in the bathroom needed a good clean. My husband cleaned the cooker hood and vacced the premises before we left, but would have expected the cottage to have been cleaned to a better standard.

I have stayed many times in sykes cottages and have never been disappointed , on the listing the property seemed great , but the reality was a different story.. The property parking is round corner at other rental cottage, the double gates to property are in poor repair, leaving you struggling to get in and out and leaving you unable to park your car at your rental cottage. The walls are paper thin allowing you to here the occupants next door and loud creaking floor boards above sleeping area.the shower dripped, property was extremely hot, due to the fact we could only leave bathroom window open. Privacy is very poor, sit in the jacuzzi and your right next to the pavement , with loads of road noise and people walking passed able to see you. Having double patio doors allows passers-by to see in ,we had the curtains closed the whole time of our stay. Rubbish was left in bin bags on the patio the whole week and finally when you read the listing it implies that there are double doors to the bedroom which there are not. Poor information pack and no visitors book.... I wonder why!!!! Really would not recommend this property.

Lovely break for couples, we really enjoyed it.. The cottage was compact, but had everything you needed and a hot tub thrown in for good measure.

March 2019
The cottage is lovely, perfect for 2 people.. Just the right size. Hot tub is great, however it is on the patio which is on a main road. There is a fence but it could be a little more private with some hedges/bushes as the gate is lower than the fence and you can see people walk by. The kitchen is well equipped and the place is generally really comfortable. Cemaes Bay is lovely, only wish the weather had been better so we could explore more!

We have just spent a long weekend here. The cottage is lovely, very clean & modern and has everything there that you would need. The only downside for me was the lack of privacy when using the hot tub. People walking past are able to see you through the fence so consequently this put me off using the hot tub. It is also right in front of the window of next doors cottage, although they had their blinds closed it was still off putting knowing they could have easily opened them at any time. Although we enjoyed our stay at Smithy Cottage I would not return purely because of the lack of privacy.

The blinds were damaged lots of links missing we couldn't open one blind at all.. The noise from the adjoining property was disturbing i.e. Creaking floorboards water running noises and the parking facilities were disappointing as we couldn't park in front of the property we were hiring. The welcome pack was generous and appreciated.

Lovely little holiday let.. Perfect for location. David was very helpful and welcoming. Loved the hot tub it was spotless and well kept. Only downfall was the locals who didn't want us there but it didn't spoil it for us. The beach and surroundings are really beautiful. And the coastal walks were amazing. We would highly recommend this lovely smithy cottage.

We have spent a week in this amazing bungalow, it more than exceeded our expectations !! It is decorated to a very high standard and absolutely pristine. The bedding and towels were spotless and the bed so comfortable. David and Lee have thought of everything you need to make it home from home !! They made us so welcome and had even thought of leaving a welcome hamper including “ Welsh Cakes “. The bungalow was spotless throughout and so cosy. Not to mention the hot tub which we really appreciated after long walks along the stunning beach and harbour. Cemaes Bay is so beautiful and scenic with lots of walks and places to visit !! This was the best and most relaxing holiday we have had, so much so we did not want to leave. We would have definitely booked to go back later in the season but unfortunately “ Smithy Cottage “is already booked up !! We will definitely be visiting again. Thanks again David and Lee ,hope to see you soon.

A little disappointed on how small Smithy cottage actually was, and the amount of hairs we found on the floor and even in the fridge upon our arrival.. No welcome pack, like we had read in other reviews either. Hot tub was fab, but this is in the front garden and is not very private. Unfortunately Smithy cottage is an extension on to another cottage which is rented out and the wall is paper thin, every morning we were woken up at 6.30am by the people staying there visiting the bathroom, you can hear everything - taps turning, chain flushing and everything else that happens in the bathroom! Every door that is shut you can hear and the floorboards above also very noisy. For this reason we actually left a day early, so take note that you are attached to another rented property. Cemaes is a quiet village, but lovely if you just want to escape.

Spent a week here and it was perfect.. Home from home, and very welcoming. Perfect walking distance of the beach and pubs. Our dog absolutely loved it, plenty of dog friendly pubs within walking distance or a short drive away. Great location for exploring angelsea will definitely be returning. Just what we needed for a relaxing week away !

First off, you can only gain access if you’re 6ft tall having to reach over the gate to find the rusty bolt. The gate opens out onto the pavement so when leaving watch out for pedestrians! Shower was dirty, bathroom window wouldn’t close so was very cold (no heating in the bathroom). States king size double bedroom so thought it was a king size bed but it’s only a double. The 2 oil filled radiators couldn’t be moved and were not warm enough. Settee not as picture. Didn’t try the hot tub as it was only a foot away from next doors conservatory and noted visitors book had said people were looking through and you felt on show. Would not go back again.

Had a wonderful weekend in this lovely little cottage. It was clean and cosy and hosts were very helpful. Powerful shower and a hot tub that was worth braving the mini beast from the east for. Pet friendly with secure garden was a big plus for it too. Stumbling distance to shops, pub and beach. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet escape into bliss.

Location was good.. Cottage was ok. Cleanliness: Dirty pair of old trainers found in wardrobe. Dirty sponge by the sink and long dark hair found on floor, not ours! Uncomfortable settee in lounge. Blinds broken didn't close properly.

Beautifully decorated hi tech looking cottage.. Not suitable for those 50+ as sofa although comfy too low. Bed much too low. Winter let tings need more that an oil filled radiator to heat the place. Takes too long to get warm. Facilities were good the kitchen had everything you would need. Easy to find and close to village shops, pubs & beach

We stayed here for a week July/August 2017. Booked as a base to explore North Wales. On arrival the cottage was immaculate and very clean with everything you would need. Lovely welcome basket too. Disappointed that the hot tub was cold, especially after a 7 hour drive but upon calling the owner we were offered to use the one next door! Was hot by the next morning and was grateful for it after a day of walking. We found the bed so uncomfortable, very soft and the walls to the next cottage paper thin so every footstep and noise was heard. The other thing was the gate, found it very difficult to manoeveure to open. Had a lovely meal in The Stag but was very disappointed in the Sunday lunch at The Harbour after reading all the reviews. All in all regardless of the above Camaes was a lovely place for a week of peace and relaxation.

Highly recommended...:)...ohhh and don`t forget the chippy...A++ and ohhh the hot tub was a delight...xx

Location is really good for touring Anglesey, and Cemaes Bay is really lovely and is only a few minutes walk away, we found it great for walking the dogs down the river walk and onto the beach. Great chippy just down the road and a couple of dog friendly watering holes for us, locals really friendly. Everywhere you could wish to visit in Anglesey is never more than a 25 minute drive away. So many beautiful bays and beaches to visit and to top it all off, what better way than to end your day with a drop or two of your fav tipple relaxing in the fabulous hot tub, which incidentally is the best we ever had, you wont be disappointed.
