I will keep this simple, the garden needs attention, the garden furniture is rusty and has sharp edges, we had to clean out the log burner and the toaster before we could use them.. also there was a strong odour, after my husband investigated he found a bowl under the sink with brown stale water in it god only knows when that was last emptied. No instructions on which bins to use or what to do with the recycling which is unacceptable considering you are sharing bins with the next door neighbour (who by the way was lovely but agreed with us)... I cleaned the whole cottage from top to bottom needless to say it was cleaner when we left than when we arrived.it is extremely remote with no amenities within walking distance.. I have to say it was very well equipped with every utensil you could need plenty of plates, glasses, pots and pans. I personally would not return to this cottage.

We've spent a lovely time in this cute and cosy cottage.. Beautiful countryside, amazing views. It is a great place for a city break. Very close to Snowdonia mountains and even closer to the seaside. In the cottage, you can find everything you may need. All facilities are in good condition and clean.

Loved the cottage and surrounding area.. The garden was lovely and perfect for the children to play. The cottage it’s self is beautiful and full of character and charm. Very clean upon arrival and couldn’t fault it at all. Great location and a good base for Snowdonia, Angelsey and the coast. Beaches are a must

We enjoyed our stay at Hendy Cottage but found the cottage cold as we did not want to use the wood burner, we are used to gas or electricity and although we used the electric fire we found it cold.. In saying that we were comfortable and as I have said enjoyed the holiday. the quirkiness of the cottage we found very much to our taste and we found the bed most comfortable. The weather also made for the holiday because if it had been a bad spell there was nothing to do owing to the remoteness of the cottage.

Lovely quirky cottage in a very rural setting.. Great for those who like tranquility and getting away from it all. Cottage has everything you want but bear in mind that it is a 12 minute drive to the nearest shop! A great location for exploring the Llyn peninsula. Very helpful owner who quickly got the hot water problem we encountered fixed.

We have been to Hendy 3 times now and we love it just as much as the first time.. It’s remote and cosy and like a home from home. Can’t wait to go again!

We arrived on the coldest day of the year with our 18mth old to find the storage heating off. So it was stone cold and no hope of any heating until they had warmed up. Usually 24 hrs. When they did it was still freezing cold. Several hours into our stay a shooting party arrived in the neighbouring fields. They surrounded the cottage and proceeded to blow ducks out the air, we couldn't leave the cottage for shot falling from the sky! The most harrowing thing was the inhumane way the ducks were dispatched, not satisfied with blowing them out the sky the shooting party left them for a considerable time suffering still alive on the floor before collecting them and not wringing their necks but beating them in effectively with a stick. Myself and my partner both grew up on farms so we are not townies but this was unacceptable. We contacted the owner who's response was "WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT ITS THE COUNTRYSIDE". We left later that day after the lack of customer care and also informed the local Police. Overall very dissatisfied.

Just had a great week Christmas to NYE at Hendy cottage. Quirky with a really nice finish inside and really good beds! Just about close enough for us as we'd planned to walk Snowdon. Dylan's in Cricceith town along the coast also great for a seafood dinner with views over the beach and castle.

The cottage was wonderful, quirky and comfortable.. The wood burner was amazing and the kitchen had everything you could need. The welcome pack of coffee, tea, milk, sugar, Welsh cakes and a bottle of wine was a lovely thoughtful touch. Some instructions for the fan oven and grill would have been helpful and a washer dryer would have completed all needs. The only other disappointments were that it was said there were walks from the door. You can indeed walk from the door but the lanes are extremely narrow and those drivers who appear familiar with them do drive very fast so it's neither pleasant or easy with dogs or small children also the garden(s) are not actually secure as described and easily got out of by our inquisitive pup who then had quite a nerve wracking adventure amongst the highland cattle in the neighbouring fields. Fortunately the farmer was extremely understanding and no harm done on this occasion. Having said that we would happily return somewhat better prepared and aware of these things because nothing detracts from the cottage itself and the fantastic location.

We wanted a quaint, little cottage that was quiet and that's exactly what we got. We would recommend to all our friends, in fact we already have done. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

We feel the cottage is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Wales. The countryside views and coast line access truly added to an enjoyable time. Mother nature gave us a few challenges but the homeliness of the cottage and the log fire helped us through. We will never forget our Christmas at Hendy Cottage.

The property was perfect we didn't want to leave, it was the best. The dogs loved it too, it was nice to be able to see the sea from French doors, all in all 100%.
