The cottage was lovely, clean and had everything we needed.. It’s in a quiet area but not far from the beach and a few shops. Would definitely recommend.

The bathroom was not as clean as we would have liked, and bedrooms had dust and cobwebs in them.. There was no heating in the lower ground floor hallway and temperatures did plummet during out stay. We thought there was a field at the rear for the kids and dog to play in but it was more a little low maintenance garden that was fenced off. The tea towel that was left for us smelt disgusting so we washed it but we did take our own anyway. The bowl still had grease around the inside of it and we were a little disappointed that the level of cleanliness and hygiene was not to our own standard.

A lovely cottage in a good location.. The weather was so lovely so we didn’t need to light the little log burning stove. The two dogs thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The cottage is on the lane leading up to the Blue Lake which is a absolute must to go and see.

October 2018
Nice peaceful location with some nice walks straight from the cottage.. The walk to Barmouth over the bridge was lovely. Fairbourne beach is fabulous and huge! 15 to 20 minute walk to local well stocked shop. The chip shop there was good ...big portions and tasty! Lots of nice places to visit within 30 or so miles. The weather was good for October too. The cottage was comfy and cozy, kitchen had everything you'd need to cook a meal. All in all a very enjoyable holiday in this beautiful part of Wales.

Cottage warm and comfortable.. Main complaint is mattress on double bed very uncomfortable and needs replacing urgently. We slept in the two single beds after first night. Cafetière was too small for two people let alone four. Otherwise well equipped.

An excellent cottage in beautiful surroundings.. We had a fantastic 2 week stay and would like to return next summer. As others have commented a vacuum cleaner would be useful, especially after a trip to the beach. We would completely recommend this cottage anytime.

Had a fantastic time.. Impressed with kitchen facilities. During a hot summer like this one, would have been nice to have a pedestal fan. Only negative is that the floors are very noisy. Having said that, we would come back again

The cottage is fine and we enjoyed our stay but you should be aware it is VERY remote.. Fantastic beach not far away but only one shop, butty bar, butcher and a chip shop which is only open a few hours. Nothing for the kids but we loved the place.

The cottage was all that could be expected from a holiday cottage.. We have therefore avoided the pitfall of comparing it with a family home! We enjoyed our stay. Everything worked. The location is ideal, being very quiet and accessible to a wide range of destinations. With a dog it was perfect, with walks from the house, as well as nearby. For information, and not a problem for us, was we had to park on the grass, as the other parking spaces were taken. This is something which can easily be addressed by slightly extending the hard surfacing.

We arrived expecting a lovely cosy cottage and we got that and much much more.. The location, for people who enjoy walking, is exceptional. Walking left up the hill from the cottage quickly took us into the hills which became mountains. Turning right, we walked to the coast, and along the sea towards the bridge to Barmouth. The cottage itself was warm, very well equipped, clean and very well furnished and laid out. It exceeded all my hopes and expectations - thank you! The two lurchers loved it too!

Great location for walks very quiet , well equipped cottage , good beach ten minutes walk away and track to the blue lake outside front door, we just did loads of walking with the dogs so suited us perfectly, not sure about local pubs think you may need a car , but it was fine for us, and you can walk to Barmouth across the bridge although we cheated and drove to the station near where bridge starts . We will be back

The cottage was really comfortable to stay in, it was very warm with an excellent wood burner. The car parking was spot on with plenty of space for a large car, and there was plenty of wildlife to see around the area, with lovely walks.

The cottage was charming and beautiful, exactly what one would need for a break from the city. The location is quiet and peaceful but not hard to find. The real wood burner in the living room gave off a great cosy vibe and the place as a whole was well maintained and furnished decorated to a high and modern standard. Decent WiFi is a must for us and thank God Hendoll Cottage 1 didn't let us down with this!

We were the first to stop in this property. Lovely peaceful setting 10 minute walk to the beach. Beautiful walk up the lane to the blue lake a must. Lots to see and do in the area Enjoyed Portmerion and Barmouth. Cottage was comfortable just needed a few finishing touches. The courtyard outside was a nice little sun trap in the afternoon but the garden requires work. Word of warning because it is an upside down house you need to be aware that when you are in bed you can hear every little sound from upstairs. This may be a problem if you have light sleepers or young children going to bed early.
