Perfect in every way.. Loved the cottage, was so much better than we expected.Wonderful having barn doors in the bedroom which led into garden and was able to leave top door open to listen to birds. The location was also amazing.Ten minutes walk to a gorgeous beach or ten minute walk the other way up a picture perfect lane and track to blue lake.So many walks from the doorstep did not use the car at all during our stay.Would definitely return and recommend. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Great cottage in a hidden gem of mid wales loved our time away.. Would definitely recommend to others that they give this place a chance regardless of the recent reviews! You won’t be disappointed

The cottage itself was restored to a high standard; the bed was comfortable as were the sofas.. As others had mentioned in the visitors' book, it is in need of a good deep clean. The kitchen utensils and crockery were not all thoroughly washed, and I had to wash them all before use. (One plate had actually been stacked DIRTY, as had a pan.) The kitchen had been equipped to a good basic level, but not with real love and enthusiasm, as has been the case in several cottages I use. I suppose @utilitarian' would describe it. The cottage is very conveniently situated with lovely walks and beach nearby, and despite some reservations, I would book it again. It's a pity there isn't a dishwasher, which would help with hygiene. The TV was not watchable in rainy weather (just when it is needed!) so a dish might be considered. Also, as was mentioned frequently in the visitors' book, I was surprised there was no reference file: ref bins, local amenities etc. This is normally a given in rental cottages. The tin opener was broken, and had also been mentioned previously. I do not mind of you publish this or not. It is meant to be helpful.

Nice cottage with lots of lovely walks and easy access to other parts of the coast

May 2019
Nice enough place and location to stay in, but unfortunately was let down by low standard of housekeeping, i.. E. thick dust and cobwebs everywhere, dirty mirrors, cup marks on coasters, dirty windows, some of the kitchen dishes needed replacing, the fridge door handle hadn’t been cleaned and the cottage didn’t smell nice on walking in. The place needs a good spring clean. Not what you expect to find in a holiday home. From other similar comments we have read in the visitor book it would seem that no action is taken regarding housekeeping standards which is a shame.

The cottage is in a fab location and equipped with everything we needed.. Once there we didnt use the car. A visit to the Blue Quarry Lake is a must. Take note of the chip shop opening times as they shut quite early on and the ordering procedure of the Indian. Local shop is well stocked and owners very friendly.

October 2018
Lovely week away with my fiance, parents and two dogs.. Location was fantastic as it was only a 5-10 min walk to the shops/chippy/train station. Everywhere is extremely dog friendly and the beach is only 10 mins walk. If you catch the tide at the right time you get a beautiful sandy beach, perfect for dogs to run around. Property has everything you need just wish the garden was more secure as our dogs if left alone could easily jump the wall.

We stayed at this cottage with our two dogs for a quiet week away from the hustle and bustle of normal daily life, the cottage is perfectly situated with an old slate mine and Blue Lake 1/2 mile in one direction and a lovely quiet and very clean beach 1/2 mile in the other direction, with the friendly village of Fairbourne at the edge of the beach, the harbour town of Barmouth is only a couple of mile walk further up, or for the less energetic there is a train service which only takes 10 minutes to cover the distance across the Barmouth Bridge.. The cottage it's self was just lovely, very tidy and fitted with all the amenities one would expect, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very quiet area and left very relaxed and refreshed. I would highly recommend this cottage, we loved every minute.

Although the cottage was comfortable and clean the equipment was very basic, for example no teapot was provided despite a previous comment in the visitor’s book..

Lovely cottage, lovely location.. Had a really lovely week!

August 2018
Lovely cottage close to beach and blue lake that is beautiful and worth a visit.. We found that it's about an hours drive from most things we wanted to do. The pony trekking centre down the road is good and value for money. The only let down was the cleaning of the cottage, cobwebs and dust everywhere. Also the patio at the rear needs finishing and some of the slabs are wobbly.
Mrs Cross
July 2018
The general cleanliness of the cottage wasn't as expected.. There were lots of cobwebs in the corners of all the rooms. I had the clean the oven/grill tray because someone had used it previous to us arriving ( previous occupants)and it was covered in fat, and the utensil draw was dirty with a long hair right across all the items in the draw. The cottage itself was great and the location was brilliant ( just down the lane from the blue lake) and a ten minute walk to the lovely beach and shops), but the whole experience was let down by below average cleaning. We are not fussy people we do expect those little a bit of focus on the presentation and cleanliness of your property.

Cottage is situated in a prime location for walking and for driving to more stunning destinations for days out.. A beach is in walking distance from the cottage to blow away the cobwebs and Barmouth bridge is also a stone's throw. Stunning scenery from where ever you look. Fabulous!

August 2016
Location was great for us as we wanted an outward bound type holiday with walking and cycling activities.. Very pet friendly and our 4yr old Shih Tzu loved it but didnt like going down the stairs as she couldnt grip the smooth wooden treads. The bedrooms downstairs was a quirky change and the log burner in the lounge made for very cosy evenings. Beautifully restored and renovated we cant wait to go back again.

June 2016
We had a lovely holiday, partly due to the quality of the cottage, it was far better than we'd hoped for actually and easily big enough for a family of four! The enclosed garden/yard was spot on, and there was loads of parking!
