Bit disappointed that the cottage did not look as pictured on booking, the toilet door downstairs needed to have a bit taken of the bottom as it sticks, toilet brush was filthy and badly stained, floor could do with sanding and resealling, worktops inadequate made from scaffold boards, stairs very steep and hand rail inadequate as metal was quite slippery as I slipped and was admitted to Bangor hospital so another handrail on the wall on the other side would be an advantage as the metal one is not suitable for some, the double bed was a 3/4 size, apart from the hooks in the bedroom there was nowhere to put your clothes, the shower was great, I don’t think that the cottage is suitable for 4 adults perhaps 2 plus 2kids, no washing machine was a great miss, there was a log burner but it was to your own expense to use it and as it was quite cold we had to have the heating most of the time, but there was a notice to be frugal with use, personally I would not recommend this property.

Would like to be able to set the heating to what we required and that the fire was in better condition It might be worth mentioning that in the slower times of the year sum of the items in the area are closed.. The beaches in the area are fantastic and The Last Inn at Barmouth is well worth a visit for both the food and the character.

We had a fabulous Christmas break in this lovely cottage.. Lovely enclosed garden that suited our energetic dog very well indeed; loads of parking space (we had to take a trailer for all the Christmas related stuff so that was very useful!) and the cottage itself is lovely - traditional but very comfy indeed. Quiet area but everything that you need to hand in the village. Close enough to the beach for easy daily trips with the girls and the dog. Fab!

Location of cottage is excellent.. Easy to get to & you don't need to travel far to get anything you need. It has good public transport links - bus and train - which are easy to use & it is quite a novelty to have to flag down a train! Cottage is cosy, warm & beautifully clean with the added bonus that everything works. The garden is enclosed & our dogs were happy to wander safely. Easy walks from the cottage to the beach through woodland/along a lane - takes about 20 minutes. Beach is very long and has sand dunes so brilliant for walking. Winter time is obviously quieter with less choice of places to visit/eat at (particularly when you have 2 hounds) but we found the pub at Talybont (20min walk) very welcoming & serving good food.

The cottage was great, nice and quite, really good for the dogs.. The only thing i would suggest to the owners is to have some logs for the fire and a light for the garden. There was a issue getting in but once in felt relaxed and enjoyed our stay, will go back to explore more as rain prevented our exploring fully. The butcher at the end of the road is fantastic, there is no laundry facilities but there is a laundrette in the next town (5 mins in the car). Overall a nice wee place. Limited cell signal and wifi slow so if you want to "un plug" defo go there

This is a pretty cottage in a great position benefiting from being very close to the lovely clean beach (5 mins drive or 20 min walk) and also within the Snowdonia National Park.. It makes a great base for exploring North Wales. The enclosed garden was great for our dog and would also give peace of mind if you had young children. It was also really handy having the butler sink with outside tap for washing the dog after a day out. We really enjoyed the log burner in the living room on a couple of chilly nights too. There is a Spar with a fantastic butchers a few minutes walk away which we used regularly. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable holiday here and would stay again.

This a lovely comfortable cottage, it is a very quiet area with lots of lovely walks close by.. It is the perfect place to recharge your batteries. The only downside is to be aware of is the railwaysleeper bench on the grass part of the garden, it's leeches tar when it's hot. Would definately recommend this cottage and will book again. The welcome basket is a lovely. The garden was perfect for our dog, he loved the space.

The little cottage is a beautiful place with much attention to detail.. The moment you step in you are overwhelmed with the cozy atmosphere. At least to us it was that way. A nice 30 minute walk takes you to the beach with marvellously wide sands. Many great walks are within half an hour of driving. There's a small but well equipped supermarket some minutes by foot and still the place is quiet. And it's perfect for dog keepers. The large garden is sorrounded by little walls and gated so that the dogs can play there and won't get out. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Lovely country cottage in a quiet secluded area, though not far from the main road.. Plenty of parking space and outside sitting options including a lawned garden. Steep stairs which could be difficult if you have a mobility problem, though there is a ground floor toilet as well. All the facilities you would expect are fitted into the small cottage, be prepared for no dishwasher, washing machine or hairdryer, but if your staying for a week, that isn't really a problem. There were 2 of us and a dog, I expect it would be a little cosier with 4 people. Wifi worked well. Easy driving South to Barmouth and North to Llanbedr, Harlech, and on to Port Marion & Porthmadog. Its longer than a quick walk, but a short drive to the beautiful beaches is recommended. Thanks to Bho and Jayne for making us most welcome, I would recommend a stay at 2 Borthwen cottages

Very nice cottage.. Not as close to the beach as expected. Constructive criticisms are as follows... no heating instructions. No logs for fire or utensils for the fire, no big deal but it was march and cold. I bought logs etc but would of liked to have cleaned the fire after myself. I absolutely loved the tranquillity and it's perfectly decorated and comfortable. I had a perfect weekend thank you

We've had a most enjoyable holiday at the cottage , even two days of snow didn't spoil it ! The cottage is set in a very quiet little lane and gives the feeling of being way out in the countryside and yet just two minutes walk away is a well stocked shop and butchers and a petrol station The cottage is really quaint and cosy and has a huge secure garden which was perfect for our two dogs . The welcome basket was a lovely touch with a bottle of wine and bara brith and hot chocolate and coffee sachets I would definitely recommend this cottage it's perfect in every way

My son and I and two dogs had a lovely stay at the cottage .it was very clean and tidy and had everything you could possibly need.it is set in a very quiet lane and has a huge enclosed garden which was ideal for the dogs.it gives the feeling of being away from it all and yet just a two minute walk away is a very well stocked grocery shop with its own butchers , a petrol station opposite and a little further along a post office/gift shop and a takeaway.it is possible to walk to benar beach from there but it's quite a jaunt through woods and across a field and at the time we were there it was very waterlogged.but it would be a lovely walk in the summer months. There was a welcome basket on arrival with a bottle of wine, coffee and hot chocolate sachets and bara brith which was a lovely touch I highly recommend this cottage and hope to go there again in the future

This was an absolutely stunning cottage set in a beautiful, quiet village.. The cottage itself was modern whilst keeping it's cottage type charm with wooden beams and log burner. It had a big garden and drive way. We loved every minute of our Christmas stay and would definitely recommend it. The only criticism (for want of a better word as it certainly isn't a complaint) is that the logs were wet and therefore wouldn't light in the log burner. It was a little disappointing as we always make sure there is a log burner when we book a place to stay but not the end of the world as we went a bought some instead. Thank you for our best Christmas ever.
