It is possible to travel by steam through the breathtaking beauty of Snowdonia to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caerforn from Porthmadog, the entrance to the Snowdonia National Park. Porthmadog also has a number of unique stores and eateries. Borth Y Gest, a charming seaside community with cliffs and coves, is only a short drive or walk away. There is a well-known Italianate village just down the coast known as Portmeirion.
