Area Borth-y-Gest is a peaceful Welsh beach community with mostly Victorian residences that have retained their charm and character. This North Wales community boasts two bistros and a coffee lounge, all of which are set on the front overlooking the bay and have dog-friendly outside dining spaces, making them ideal spots to idle away the hours watching the local boatmen come and go. Borth-y-Gest has many of walking opportunities, with its sheltering coves and sandy beaches; why not climb Moel-y-Gest or stroll over the headland to the famous Black Rock Sands, or venture further afield to the enormous Snowdonia National Park? Take a journey on the famous Ffestiniog Steam Railway and Welsh Highland Railway from Porthmadog, which is only a 15-minute walk away, or explore the shorter but more child-friendly Welsh Highland Heritage Railway.
