We stayed here for a weekend walking and cycling in North Wales. The accommodation is superb, with plenty of room. We were a group of 15 and everyone had their own double room. The Lombard is really well equipped, and we particularly enjoyed the pool table. The kitchen is great for catering to large numbers and it has a massive dining room and outside seating area to enjoy the sun. The location is also ideal, there is loads to do on the doorstep. Dolgellau has lots of nice little pubs and eateries, and Barmouth is just down the road. Cadair Idris (walking) and Parc-yBrenin (mountain biking) are just a stone's throw away. It is also ideal for exploring the rest of Snowdonia and mid-wales. The location is so good I am returning in August for a week-long trip with my wife. Don't listen to the bad review that is on this site. It had concerned me before we arrived but I needn't have worried. Yes, the accommodation is not a 5-star luxury hotel, but it is well maintained for the size and age of the property and we had everything we needed as a group. Communication with the owner was good and they responded to all of our queries quickly and promptly and were very helpful. There is plenty of space and the bedrooms and lounge areas are comfortable. Plenty of rooms have en-suite and there are lots of other bathrooms to go around. All-in-all, this is an absolute belter of a place and highly recommended!

This property has been neglected and not maintained for years. There are too many health and safety issues to list but please be advised the property is unsafe. Our stay began with seeing a rat inside the kitchen on a couple of evenings with it eventually being dealt with by ourselves. There are plug sockets hanging off the walls, broken stairs spindles and dishwashers that fall when you open them. None of which are great when you have younger children staying in the property. Avoid at all costs. Location is good as centrally located but, unfortunately, that is the only positive.

We stayed as a group of 15 on a stag do, which meant that everyone got their own room with a double bed which went down very well. The games/lounge area was great and we made good use of the pool table, shuffleboard, table football - and the poker table in the vault(!) The kitchen was very well equipped, and the dining area had plenty of space for 40 guests. The house is in a good location in central Dolgellau - and the provided parking passes for the local long stay car park was much appreciated. Would come back again.
