One of the primary local draws is Zip World Slate Caverns, the longest and fastest zip line in the world and a fantastic underground adventure. Since UNESCO designated the slate mines as a world historic site, tourists can now take fascinating subterranean tours to witness mining as it was done in the past. 13 miles of the renowned narrow gauge Ffestiniog mountain railway also passes through the Snowdonia National Park on its way to Porthmadog, a harbour town.
