Back for a second visit to Ty Tabitha, and it felt like reacquainting with an old friend. And good to see Fliss again, who really does feel like a friend now - thank you for your kindness and hospitality, Fliss, and for inviting us into your studio and sharing your art with us. We hope to come back again soon - it's so relaxing, peaceful and welcoming at Ty Tabitha, and we'd like to explore more of the history, nature and landscape of this corner of North Wales...

This is our second visit to Ty Tabitha Wynne and we couldn't have wished for a better holiday.. We were given a warn welcome by Fliss the owner, the cottage was spotless and she had provided us with a very generous welcome pack of goodies. The weather was again kind to us so managed to do lots of good walks, visit two National Trust gardens, Erddig & Bodnant, and even managed a spot of climbing in Llangollen. This property is located in a very quiet and peaceful spot, with lovely views across to the Clwydian hills from the garden, a great place to unwind. Thanks again Fliss and look forward to seeing you for a third visit.

The cottage was very cosy for 2 people, you had all you needed in the kitchen and bathroom.. The lady who owned the cottage was very friendly counld'nt do enough for us. Good location close enough to go back into England, but also close enough to explore North Wales. would highly recommend.

Fliss did a fantastic job of making us welcome within the constraints of social distancing.. The cottage is wonderful - loads of history beautifully restored to make it really warm, cosy and welcoming with all the mod cons you could want. The location is great - total peace and quiet only broken by the calls of owls and buzzards(?) and my squeak of excitement when I saw a badger.

This was our first family holiday and this cottage was totally perfect.. Fliss made us really welcome and had gone over and above for our little boy. Even though the owners live next door you don't feel like this intrudes on your holiday but they were also willing to help if needed. We had a mixed week with the weather but the cottage is perfectly located so that we could still make the most of our holiday. Thank you so much for making us so welcome and for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cottage. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We stayed for 3 nights and had lovely time staying at Ty Tabitha Wynne. After a long journey, the sight of the wood burner and warm welcome by the host made us feel right at home. The cottage has everything you need and we really enjoyed learning about the period restoration and history of the local area. We would highly recommend staying here. Thank you Fliss and Mike.

We had a lovely short stay and enjoyed staying in the comfortable and historic cottage.. Perfectly placed to visit many places in North Wales or if popping back over the England/Wales border to visit places like Liverpool.

This is a beautiful cottage and has been rebuilt to the highest standard. We had a lovely time here. My 11 year old son said he wanted to buy it. Every facility you could require has been thought of. From the wood burner in the front room, the large well equipped kitchen, the beautiful bedroom with oak beams. You feel amazed and at home the second you walk through the door. The owners have even provided the full history of the cottage and its previous owners. There are so many lovely touches and attention to detail. The location is off the beaten track and there are so many places to walk. The Piccadilly local pub served wonderful food and Ale and was a reasonable walk or an 5 min drive. The village tea shop provided us with a great cooked breakfast. You are only 30 miles from Llandudno and Conwy. It is truly a lovely place to visit we will most certainly be back for another visit. Thankyou for such a wonderful break. Ken Julie and kellen

Thank you Fliss and Mike for a lovely weekend in your beautiful cottage. Really lovey welcoming hosts had the log burner going for our arrival so it was all cosy for us. The cottage itself is amazing, I wouldn't change a thing. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back.

Our hosts, the Owens family, are wonderful people, absolutely kind and helpful.. Fliss surprised us at our arrival with a large box of fine foods, she even had baked a very delicious Welsh cake for us. And she also put milk, bacon and sausages into the fridge. Never before we were anywhere welcomed with so much kindness and generosity. The cottage is so lovely and cosy in a beautiful environment. The house itself is 'breathing' history, as it was once part of Thomas Wynne's estate. Walks throughout the stunning beautiful countryside start right in front of the door. We loved to stay at Ty Tabitha Wynne and were sad to leave it. Special thanks again to Fliss, Mike and their son.

Just had a lovely enjoyable weekend in this beautiful cottage, the work that has put in has definitely paid off, it is stunning inside and outside and we have enjoyed reading about the history of it. Fliss and Mike are both very good hosts, making us feel welcome from the start. This is our first trip to Wales and plan to return again as we have loved every minute, it has been very relaxing, which is just what we needed. Also had a little welcome goodies on arrival, which my little girl especially loved her chocolate unicorn coins and wine & chocs for mummy & daddy which was a very lovely personal touch!! Would definitely like to return and will be recommending to friends and family

The owners of Th Tabitha Wynne are delightful.. We had the pleasure of meeting Fliss and she was really warm and welcoming. The cottage has been a true labour of love and this is evident in the attention to detail everywhere, including the cobble entrance as it would have been originally. This is a wonderful base to journey around Wales as we did, or the perfect spot to enjoy the gorgeous country side right on your doorstep. Anyone choosing to visit Ty Tabitha Wynne can expect a wonderful welcome and a delightful experience.

I couldn't recommend this cottage and its owners highly enough. It's oozing with character from every corner and it really feels home from home as you sit in the very comfortable lounge, especially with the wood burning stove on. I'd love to go back in the summer when less hurried. Mike and Fliss are so hospitable and do go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Maybe just one possible improvement.... Leave the flood light outside on for longer!!

I love this cottage.. For just one person it's perfect. The owners are really friendly and go into every detail to make the stay comfortable. The cottage is oozing with character and they have a folder giving the fascinating history of the cottage and the work that went in to convert it from a derelict barn to what it is now. It is in a remote location, and not being familiar with rural Wales I had not expected the roads to be so challenging, and to use it as a commuting base for a conference, leaving early and coming back late I did not utilise the cottage to the full. I think it's much more suited as a leisurely holiday destination in the summer. I think maybe Sykes could have put more in about the surroundings and road connections. Other than that I fully recommend this cottage.

March 2018
Ty Tabitha Wynne totally exceeded all of our expectations.. It's stunning, warm and comfortable. Mike and Felicity have converted the barn with skill and love, keeping the bones of an amazing building but making it both very comfortable and luxurious. The weather was sunny and we had a great week exploring North Wales, there's masses to do around here for both youngsters and adults and we had a superb time visiting the slate mines, Chester Zoo, Conwy, Llandudno, Snowdonia etc. We couldn't fit in all that we wanted to do so we'll be back! Thanks so much to Felicity and Mike, great hosts with a stunning cottage.

Myself, my partner and our little girl loved our weekend away at this lovely cottage.. The owners were friendly and welcoming and it was clear that they have put a lot of love into the cottage, as there was everything we needed and more. We would highly recommend this cottage and hope to visit again in the summer to take advantage of the surrounding area.

August 2017
We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Ty Tabitha Wynne. The cottage is beautiful and was clearly a labour of love to convert - it is full of character with wood beams, a wattle and daub wall, and even the original cobbles in the entrance hallway. It was spotless on arrival and is well equipped with a dishwasher, all the kitchen utensils you require, a wood burning stove (which we did not need as the owners had generously left the heating on to counter our Welsh ‘summer’ temperatures!). The owners, Fliss, Mike and son Christy were lovely; very welcoming, helpful, but never intrusive. The same cannot be said for their gorgeous dog, who we rather encouraged to visit! Although the cottage feels very remote it is a short drive to main roads and is a perfect base for exploring the area. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage – it is exquisite.

My wife and I spent a lovely few days in Ty Tabitha Wynne, using it as a base to explore this very scenic part of North Wales and visit friends/family in and around Chester. Wherever we went, it was a pleasure to come back to this quiet, clean cottage that has been resurrected in a traditional style, and with great skill, to a very high standard. The only neighbours were the owners: friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. Highly recommended.

Just got home from a lovely weekend at this cottage, and missing it already. Fliss and Mike are exellent host's and the standard of the cottage renovation is superb. Set in a beautiful location, we enjoyed the quiet surroundings yet close enough to local ammenities if we wanted them. Lovely country walks and pubs all close by.. ( one starts as soon as you leave the front door!! ). We hope to be returning soon, and i would recommend this to anyone without hesitation.

The owner gave us a very friendly welcome. The cottage is beautifully restored and well appointed with everything we needed. The shower has to be the best one we have ever used in a holiday cottage! The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the cottage is very comfortable for evenings in front of the log burning stove, if the weather is too wet for a walk - as it was for us. Thank you for a relaxing holiday stay!

The cottage was beautiful. Simple as. It's so well kept - clean, light, bright and airy. And oh! - that wood-burning stove! The location was lovely (just beware the hill if you decide to take the trek to local village Ysceifiog... it's a touch steep!) and the owners are extremely friendly and approachable. We both wished we were able to have stayed for longer instead of just two nights. I would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a getaway retreat. And I'll definitely be mithering the Mr to book a longer stay there in the future.

The cottage has the wow factor from the moment you set eyes on it. It's as beautiful in real life as it is in the pictures. It's history and journey into the current day is fascinating which adds to its attraction. The cleanliness and attention to detail within the cottage are second to none. Would highly recommend this beautiful cottage.

We stayed at Ty Tabitha Wynne in February 2015 for our wedding anniversary and valentines week. This cottage is absolutely stunning and such love and attention has clearly gone into restoring it. You can tell by the craftsmanship and quality of the furnishings that it's been a well thought and loved project. We could not stop saying "wow" The cottage is hidden perfectly in a beautiful quiet spot away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life yet still close enough to go out to local attractions/shops. Beautiful walks nearby to real country pubs. We had a lovely warm welcome from Fliss the owner who was lovely and had put so much detail into making our visit special, the log burner was lit on arrival, a basket of kindling and logs ready to use, fresh milk in the fridge, a little hamper of goodies, mini soaps and shower gels to name a few. We can not wait to return to this little gem. A big thank you to Fliss for making our stay perfect and memorable.

We Stayed here for a few days and honestly did not want to leave. Fliss, Mike and Christy are a wonderful family and were very welcoming throughout our stay. The property itself is homely, very well decorated and incredibly well equipped. The wood burner makes it very cosey and the characteristics of the house give it a lovely feel. We will most definitely be staying here again, hopefully very soon. Miss it already.

The history of the place, it was wonderful to see how the cottage had been restored. We also loved the area, it was fantastic for walking, we saw plenty of birds of prey, explored a ruined building and took all sorts of photos. Our hosts were fantastic too. Very accommodating, gave great directions and so friendly! We will definitely be back.

I was fortunate enough to have the pleasure of staying with Mike and Fliss at Ty Tabitha in February. The cottage is renovated to a high standard and includes all utensils and facilities you will require for your stay. Beds are very comfortable and there is a log burner and as much wood as you need, so if its cold outside you can get very comfortable. You get complete privacy and the area is very peaceful and still. I would recommend.

We stayed at Tŷ Tabitha Wynne over New Year for 5 days and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Situated in an area of outstanding beauty there are plenty of walks nearby that take you through farmlands, forests, by streams and around lakes. Caerwys is very close by and has some lovely pubs and well stocked village shops. The cottage itself feels like a home away from home. Fliss and Mike provided everything we needed for our stay upon arrival: linens, towels, logs for the fire, and even milk for a cup of tea! The history of the cottage is well documented in the welcome pack and makes for very interesting reading. It is clear that so much love and effort has gone into finishing the cottage to such a high standard. It is both authentic and totally liveable and very comfortable. We thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

We loved the welcoming homely feel of the cottage and the surrounding area. We needed nothing extra when we arrived as bed linen, towels, crockery, utensils and pots and pans were provided. The cottage has been completed to a very high standard, keeping the original features. The local area is beautiful and has plenty of local walks through woodlands and around a lake to keep you occupied. We will definitely be returning soon!

We stayed at Ty Tabitha Wynne over the Christmas week as we were visiting relatives in the area. Not long after making the booking we received a phone call from Fliss (one of the owners) asking if we wanted the cottage to be decorated with Christmas decorations. We thought it was a great idea (and we weren't disappointed when we did arrive). Fliss also asked if we wanted any food items to be got in especially, recommending the local produce. When we did arrive on our first day we were greeted by the owners who showed us around the cottage and told us some of the history of the building and its past owners (but we won't tell you about any of that as there is plenty to read about it when you are there). Also for our arrival there was a wonderful welcome pack of food and drink in the kitchen, the log fire was roaring and there was never a shortage of logs for us throughout the rest of the week. The cottage has been refurbished to an extremely high standard without compromising any of the fantastic original features. In addition to the log burner there was central heating, meaning that we were comfortable and warm all the time. The bathroom and kitchen have modern fittings for all of your conveniences. We used the cottage as a base when going back and forth visiting nearby relatives but by the end of the week it felt like home. We would definitely stay there again. We would recommend Ty Tabitha Wynne to anyone looking to stay in a cottage in the area as it is cosy, romantic, very comfortable and a great base for north Wales (10mins from A55). *If you follow the owners directions you can find it very easily.
