10 Customer Reviews

  • "Firstly, I'd like to say what a wonderful week we had celebrating my sons 18th birthday."

The house and facilities were fantastic, the dogs had a fantastic time running around the garden. We were surprised at how big the pool was and all the inflatables gave us all hours of entertainment. Everyone loved the pool, hot tub & games room. its just a shame the pool table cover wasn't repaired in time for our arrival but we were still able to use it carefully. I don't really know what else to say as the house and grounds are beautiful. I hate mentioning negatives but I want to be honest & fair. I understand the need for rules but it isn't nice to find a rule in a picture frame practically everywhere you go in the house. It would be much better in a welcoming folder like we have received at all other properties, this would be much more welcoming. Also, we appreciate that it is a working estate but having a worker walking in was not expected, on one occasion my mum was alone swimming and every morning my sister (downstairs bedroom) was woken early when the worker checked the pool. Finally, i'd recommend replacing quite a few plates and cups as there were quite a few that were chipped. Also, owners might want to consider checking the shower in the lower ground floor as it goes was freezing cold to scolding hot, heating is intermittent and mattress could do with replacing. PLEASE DO NOT LET THIS REVIEW PUT YOU OFF, BECAUSE APART FROM THESE FEW ISSUES, NOTHING COULD DAMPEN OUR LOVE OF THIS PLACE AND WE REALLY HOPE TO RETURN IN THE FUTURE.

Where you’ll be staying

ST ASAPH

Denbigh 6 miles; Chester 28 miles.

St Asaph, though small, was awarded city status in 2012, even though it boasts a population of little over 3500 occupants. Lying in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales, St Asaph enjoys a strategic location overlooking the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. St Asaph offers numerous amenities and activities, from traditional pubs, to gastronomic dining experiences, numerous craft and gift shops and local clubs offering a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a thriving leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet. A superb holiday location for exploring this picturesque area of North Wales.
