Holiday home
The Old Barn is a 200 year old barn conversion in a rural location, 1 mile from Llanferres, close to Ruthin in North Wales. This cottage sleeps two people in a mezzanine double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The rest of the cottage consists of a kitchen with sitting area and a conservatory with dining area. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and an enclosed rear patio with furniture and barbecue. The Old Barn is an ideal romantic retreat with the Offa's Dyke trail within walking distance and Moel Famau, Ruthin and Mold close by. Please note: while outdoor seating area is private, the outdoor space is shared with nextdoor property

The town of Ruthin is situated to the north of Llangollen via the breathtaking Horseshoe Pass in North Wales. The town offers half-timbered buildings, shops, Ruthin Gaol and Ruthin Craft Centre.

Omg I could not have asked for anything better.. Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings.. Well equipped and warm. We enjoyed some decent walks in spite of the weather and cosy evenings watching some of the Blu-Rays and DVD’s from our hosts collection!

Lovely cottage and well equipped.. With little touches that was welcoming. The owners were very helpful. Not as isolated as the pictures show you have to pass the owners home then another cottage to get to the Old Barn, with shared gravelled area. Saying that it was a good base for north Wales.

This cottage has a very good selection of books, cd's & DVD's which we have never had before.. It was nice knowing that we had so many facilities even though we did not use them all. We will be back. Great place.

Had an excellent time at "The Old Barn".. Cottage was clean, spacious and owners extremely helpful (given ideas of local walks and pubs etc) and friendly. Excellent views of surrounding area and within walking distance of nearby Moel Famau which has great views of surrounding area. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

Wonderfully, cosy cottage within a stunning landscape.. The cottage has everything you need. Amazing walks are right on your doorstep. We enjoyed our week there very much and so did the dog. Would not hesitate to book again.

Old Barn in a lovely peaceful setting, very welcoming and cosy.. Everything we needed within cottage and exceeded expectations, very well appointed and attention to detail. The cottage is ideally located for forays further into North Wales, Chester or Liverpool and Manchester.. Great walks locally and close to Snowdon. Best of all warm, comfortable great internet access and very relaxing place. Would recommend to any couple and we will be back.

We had a wonderful two weeks in this pretty cottage, there was everything we needed.. The owners were on hand close to the Old Barn, they were very welcoming but not intrusive. The fact that we could bring our beloved chihuahua was an added bonus. Would recommend it. We would love to return as there is so much to see and do on the area.

The Old Barn exceeded our expectations. It was in a peaceful location in a beautiful setting with terrific dog walks nearby. The owners made us most welcome from the minute we arrived and were very helpful throughout our stay. The cottage was very clean and every little detail was thought of. Stayed for one week and surpassed all expectations. Lovely welcome from the new owners who have thought of everything to make your stay most enjoyable. A stay here would be lovely any time of year. Plenty of dog-walking in the surrounding area. The Old Barn was very clean and well equipped. On the lower floor the living area, combined with the kitchen and dining area (within the conservatory) give all the room you need for a comfortable stay. A large modern bathroom adjoins the mezzanine bedroom. There is a wardrobe and drawers which provide plenty of storage for clothes. Plenty of clean towels are provided in the bathroom. Radiators are placed throughout the cottage, should you need them. Car parking at the rear of the property. There is also a patio area with seating for outdoor living. This was our first visit but we will definitely return again, and would recommend this property to family and friends.
