Area
Penmaenmawr, North Wales, is a former quarrying town that has been transformed into a charming hamlet along the coast. It is located between Llanfairfechan and Conwy and features a wonderful golf course, golden sand beaches, and numerous local pubs, restaurants, and shops. Conwy Harbor, Llandudno, Puffin Island, Anglesey, and the Irish Sea are all visible from Penmaenmawr and its sister settlement Dwygyfylchi, which are all located on the side of Tal-Y-Fan. Dolphins and seals can sometimes be spotted playing in the bay. A new bike path has opened up along the coast, connecting Llanfairfechan in the west to Conwy Marina in the east. You could also hike the Sychnant Pass and the surrounding mountains in the Conwy valley. Penmaenmawr has a thriving sailing club that attracts day visitors, as well as a 9-hole golf course nestled among the beautiful coastal scenery at the village's foothills. The promenade features many attractions, including a skate park, a children's paddling pool, and a beach cafe that is open for business for the better part of the year. A number of beach shacks are available for daily rental along the boardwalk. There is a bowling alley and all-weather tennis courts close to the shore as well.
