  • "We had a lovely stay at Dale Cottage."

The house is very spacious so it was perfect for 4 adults, 3 kids and 2 dogs! It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked but it took some getting use to the gas cooker! We had a slight issue with the boiler but the owners came and resolved the issue within 20 mins at nearly midnight. We cannot thank them enough! We really hope to be back very soon.

The property

A substantial detached character house in a lovely setting within the traditional market town of Llanrwst, located between Betws y Coed and Conwy in the beautiful Conwy Valley.

Dale Cottage has been extensively renovated and refurbished to an excellent standard throughout.

The cottage offers fantastic holiday accommodation and a superb base for friends and family looking to exploring this wonderful part of North Wales, or celebrate an upcoming special occasion.

This fantastic property is well-presented and decorated in soft tones and neutral shades and boasts many features and wonderful attributes such as high ceilings, recessed fireplaces with woodburning stoves, period style radiators, oak wood and Welsh slate floors.

There’s plenty of room for everyone here, a cosy sitting room with woodburning stove and lots of comfy seating makes it an ideal room to sit and relax after a day out and about, watch that favourite film or sit and chat with friends whilst the children watch TV or play one of the many boxed games in the snug which will keep them entertained for hours.

The wonderful dining room can accommodate eight with ease and with the woodburning stove to help create that warm and relaxing ambience; you’ll spend many an hour over family meals, reminiscing and exchanging stories of the day’s adventures long into the evening.

The kitchen is beautiful and very well equipped, fitted with modern units and Corian polished stone worktops, there is plenty of cupboard space, a large central island and a large stainless steel cooking range.

The chef amongst you will be right at home here!

Four very individual and well-styled bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, are arranged on the first floor and all enjoy either garden, courtyard or hillside views.

Outside, there is an enclosed gravelled courtyard area with seating and parking for four cars.

The gardens are quite extensive; the upper garden area with sloping lawns has two small ponds and an orchard area with a variety of fruit trees, and a seating area enjoys some wonderful elevated views to the hillside beyond, whilst the lower lawn is a great place for the children to play.

Everything is within easy access and all the amenities are within a short stroll from the house.

There are some wonderful walks; a stroll along the banks of the River Conwy followed by afternoon tea at the Tu Hwnt i’r Bont Tearooms is a must before you go home!

Surf Snowdonia, the first artificial wave lagoon of its kind in Wales, is only a short drive away, as well as numerous biking trails and centres all within easy reach.

Llandudno, with its beautiful Victorian pier or Conwy, with its majestic castle, whilst the beautiful Isle of Anglesey are all fantastic days out.

Where you’ll be staying

LLANRWST

Betws-y-Coed 4 miles; Conwy 10 miles.

Llanrwst is a thriving market town which stands in the beautiful Conwy Valley, only four miles from picturesque Betws-y-Coed, known as the 'Gateway to Snowdonia' and which is North Wales's most popular inland resort. Surrounded by dense woodland and magnificent mountain country, this is a haven for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. At Betws-y-Coed the River Conwy meets its three tributaries flowing from the west, and the beauty of the area is enhanced by cascading waterfalls, river pools and ancient bridges. Most famous of all are the magnificent Swallow Falls, situated where the Llugwy River hurls itself into a spectacular chasm. The village has shops, pubs, places to eat, miniature railway, a riverside golf course and the Woodland High Rope Activity Centre, and is home to The Snowdonia National Park Visitor Centre, as well as being the start of the beautiful Conwy Valley which leads to the coast and the lovely towns of Llandudno and Conwy.

Please note that there is a Good Housekeeping Bond of £200 on this property (£100 for all bookings taken before 29th August 2023)
