• "We had a lovely stay at Dale Cottage."

  The house is very spacious so it was perfect for 4 adults, 3 kids and 2 dogs! It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked but it took some getting use to the gas cooker! We had a slight issue with the boiler but the owners came and resolved the issue within 20 mins at nearly midnight. We cannot thank them enough! We really hope to be back very soon.

• "This was a lovely house for a short trip visiting family."

  The rooms were spacious and easily accommodated all of us and two dogs. The kitchen was well equipped, however the is no dishwasher which impacted the time we could all spend together. The stairs are very deep and steep. It would be helpful if there were a hand rail on the wall as well as the banister. My parents who have knee & back problems found this a struggle, particularly with no downstairs toilet. Nonetheless, if we were going again without my parents I would definitely consider booking Dale Cottage again.

  It’s well placed for visiting the area. Maybe a folder suggesting places to visit or brochures would have been helpful and maybe suggestions if nice places to eat ! Very surprised no dishwasher or downstairs loo especially as it could accommodate 8people! My husband booked it lol! It was very cold in the house when we arrived it was a miserable day but a quick call to the owner sorted that and we were lovely and cosy after that! Would visit again

  Handy for shops etc. Could do with a good dust round, cobwebs lamp shades etc. Surprised no dish washer or somewhere to hang clothes out to dry. But overall a nice place, would recommend.

• "Dale Cottage mostly lived up to its billing."

  Clean, well equipped (missing a dishwasher, air fryer and, possibly, a downstairs WC in this day and age) and spacious. The owners were very helpful before and during our stay. Very comfortable beds and well appointed ensuites. WiFi sporadic at times, getting through the gates is sometimes difficult with cars parked opposite and the sun in the kitchen is blinding at this time of year. However, none of this spoilt our stay in Dale Cottage. We had a most enjoyable week.

  The house was great & big enough for all of us ,3 adults & 4 children from 6 to 16. Plenty of games provided & enough rooms to spread out & not be crowded.Only thing missing for convenience only is a downstairs loo-as an elderly person going upstairs everytime is quite a challenge ! I'm sure there is room in the boiler room ! But that said we all loved it & it is in a brilliant position to visit all of Snowdoni & North Wales !

  The house has very good furniture and fittings, has well equipped kitchen with plenty of utensils, glasses and crockery. There is beautiful garden on several levels with an attractive patio area on the top level with great views of the Conway valley. We thoroughly recommend this property.

• "We had a fantastic holiday in Wales, Dale Cottage is very well equipped spotlessly clean and welcoming."

  I The weather was kind to us, but the owners have a great selection of games suitable for adults and children, which we played in the evenings. We would definitely book this cottage which has 4 bedrooms all of which have ensuites. Our only very small criticism is that there is no downstairs toilet , which for the majority of us it wasn't a problem, but if you are elderly or struggle with mobility could be annoying. We all had a lovely time.

• "We had a great week at Dale Cottage."

  Given that there were only 2 of us plus a dog it felt quite luxurious to have so much space. The house is decorated in a bright, modern style and met all our needs. The location is good given that the supermarket, bakery and take-away food shops (a good fish and chip shop) are an easy walk away. Llanrwst makes a good base to visit Conwy town, the Bodnant Garden, Betws-y-Coed, Swallow Falls, Gwydir Forest Park for the walking and the various ZipWorld sites, all of which we did. Further afield, we found the National Slate Museum at Llanberis unexpectedly interesting.

  Great location but a bit difficult getting out of the driveway. Lovely New Year treats left for us, including a Christmas Tree! Would have appreciated a dishwasher! Would definitely recommend.

• "We have been visiting Dale Cottage for many years, sadly this visit was disappointing."

  Many items were broken or dirty on arrival. A very small selection of cleaning products were provided so we used what we could to clean on arrival. As a dog and child friendly property we don't expect the property to be pristine but the tops of items such as the kettle, we would expect to not be sticky with bits of fluff! Sadly, the fridge shelf was faulty on arrival and when we placed some food items on the shelf it fell and broke damaging a lower shelf and wasting a lot of our food/drinks, we were charged for this!! The oven at the property takes a long time to cook anything and only one shelf is provided, making it difficult to cook effectively for a large family. The garden is not fully enclosed (this is mentioned on the listing) therefore it is difficult with a dog, this would be an easy fix. The area around the cottage is lovely to explore if you are happy to drive a little while. The bedrooms are spacious and all have ensuite facilities, extra pillows would have been useful. Sadly, we will not be returning to this cottage as it is not maintained effectively compared to others we have stayed in.

  Dale Cottage has provided the same facilities and standard for the last 7 years, apart from additional items that guests have suggested in the past. Thank you for bringing our attention to the cooker, however, after inspection with an oven thermometer, no problem was found. There are two shelves in each oven. As always all guests are encouraged to contact us if they need anything extra or have any problems. Unfortunately the damage that was caused during this week, to all parts of the property inside and out needed to be replaced for the benefit of future guests. We appreciate the contribution. The property has a very large garden, surrounded by native hedges, we are sorry after many years of visiting you have found this a problem this time. • "A lovely house in a very attractive part of the country."

  We liked having all the 4 bedrooms en-suite and there was plenty of rooms downstairs. Garden was big if a little steep. Llanwrst is a very lovely town and its an easy walk from the house to the shops and pubs. Train station is nearby with a great journey on the local trains north and south.

• "A great property in a wonderful location for touring north west Wales."

  The only downsides of the property were: 1. Lack of dishwasher - in a property that caters for 8 people, the fact that all washing up had to be done by hand detracted from the overall relaxation/holiday atmosphere. The kitchen is surely big enough to fit in a dishwasher. 2. The frying pans were no longer non-stick so created rather hard work to get them clean. 3. Some cushions for the garden seats would have made sitting in the pretty garden more comfortable.

• "Dale cottage is really nice, spacious and well equipped with a good sized garden that covers two sides of the cottage and is laid out in several areas, one of which has a picnic table."

  Access/egress to the spacious car park can be a little awkward if a car is parked near the entrance on the opposite side of narrow road although we did manage okay with a medium sized car. We found Dale Cottage ideal perfect for accessing both the coast and country and there are plenty of local walks. Llanrwst is a fairly small place with a nice atmosphere. We found it well served with supermarkets, bakery, cafés and takeaways, all of which are within a short walk from the cottage.

• "We had a great stay at Dale Cottage."

  There were six adults and one dog. Having our own bathroom for each couple was great, also all four of the bedrooms were big as were the ensuites. The beds were comfortable and the towels supplied were good. Could have done with a blind on the sky light as it was day light at 5am so did disturb us. Downstairs the dining room could accommodate us all as it was a good size as well as the two lounge areas. The kitchen was also big giving us enough room each morning to make breakfast and lunches. The big fridge and separate big freezer was also a bonus to store all the different food options. We travelled up in two cars but the parking area could easily accommodate 5-6 cars if needed. The outside space was large and a nice decking area to catch the last of the afternoon sunshine was good. We weren't convinced the garden was completely springer spaniel secure so kept her on a long lead. For other dogs who aren't interested in exploring too much I am sure it would be fine as long as you close the gates to the parking area from the road. The road is very close to the property and at times gets very busy but for us this was not an issue. All in all a great stay, more than enough room but could do with a couple of baking trays for the smaller of the ovens, as there was only one rack in each of the ovens and when you are trying to cook for 6 it was a bit tricky. There was also no folder with local contact numbers and information that we could see. This is only a minor point but would have been handy especially for the first night, as we had to send someone out to find out where we could get some dinner. Also one of the party needed a doctor so google was our friend, doctors were amazing better than at home.

• "The property lists 4 en-suite bedrooms but the main/primary bedroom has a velux window with No blind."

  This meant as we had no way of blocking out the light this room was unusable. This was an extreme disappointment and rooms for guests had to be reshuffled. Thankfully on this occasion we did not require all 4 rooms otherwise this would have ruined the holiday. The house was a great size and the gardens were amazing.

  We're sorry for the extreme disappointment, the velux window caused. We encouraged concerns to be communicated with us, during your stay, when we gave key collection details. This is so we can do all we can to make guest more comfortable. We would have been happy to pop over and cover the window for you, like we have done for another guest, in the past. Property Owner

  Note for the less able no downstairs toilet. Has everything one needed for a lovely stay and plenty of space and comfortable. Only addition I would recommend for the benefit of dog owners and those with small children is gates on the steps to garden and near the back door access to front garden to allow free run of the gravelled parking area which is a huge bonus giving safe and secure parking. A property well worth a second visit

Quiet location with spacious garden and located close to the Co-op and within a short and accessible driving route to the main Snowdonia locations you would want to visit. • "Thjs was our second stay at Dale Cottage, after spending a week there last October."

  The four en-suite bedrooms make it ideal for our seven family members from three different homes. The welcome bottles of wine, tea ,coffee and cakes were much appreciated. Llanwrst suits us for food shopping with the Coop and bakers just ten minutes walk away and several takeaways nearby. Our weather was mild with only one day with showers, so an added bonus. Our two sons made good use of the cycle tracks in the area, which is the main reason for the holiday and we will hopefully return next year.

• "Just got back from a memorable stay at Dale Cottage."

  This spacious 4 bedroomed, 4 bathroom cottage accommodated the 8 adults and 1 toddler in our party perfectly. The large kitchen included all appliances and utensils and was fitted with a central island and ample additional worktop space to prepare meals for our party of 9. A separate dining room included sufficient table space and seating for our party. Relaxation was catered for with a choice of 2 lounges, each with settees, easy chairs and tv. Laundry room including a washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and ironing board was also situated on the ground floor. All 4 bedrooms and their respective en-suite facilities were of very generous proportions and well appointed. Re-cycling facilities were provided to reduce the volume of household waste. Closing the double wooden gates to the driveway made it very secure for children and dogs and enough parking for our 4 cars. The village of Llanrwst was a 10 minute stroll from the cottage and had ample shops, e.g. Co-op, take aways, pubs and tea rooms. The cottage provided us with a comfortable base to explore the beauty of the surrounding areas, e.g. Llandudno, Porthmadog, Colwyn Bay, Conwy and many other places. We would like to thank Sykes Cottages and the owners Faye and William for sharing their lovely holiday home and for giving us the opportunity to have a memorable family holiday in Wales.

  The house was comfortable and well equipped. We had glorious weather earlier in the week so could enjoy drinks in the lovely garden. 4 en-suite bedrooms perfect for our party. House was a great base for Zip Wire and Snowdonia. Plenty of places to eat & drink in the town. Parking was more than enough for 4 vehicles. We thought it was great value for money and would return if looking to stay in the area again.

  The property is lovely upstairs but very tired downstairs there are cushions hanging off the two chairs in the living room and the living room isn’t big enough for 8 people, fridge freezer was leaking water main bedroom has a sky light with no blind so wakes you up around 5am and it certainly hadn’t had a deep clean no smell of cleaning fluid or polish anywhere and the fridge doors weren’t clean and neither was the kitchen floor we also had the whole of the traffic from the main A road diverted past the property from 7am until midnight everyday of our stay making it dangerous to leave the property and very noisy had to have the living room blind closed the whole time we were there and not a text or anything from the owner either and the road works had been there since the 2nd March so very disappointed when you’ve booked a quiet relaxing holiday that was spoilt with tractors lorries coaches buses all day everyday

• "As a family of seven from three different houses, we found Dale Cottage ideal for our needs with its four ensuite bedrooms."

  The property was clean and roomy and the dining table was ideal for family board games after meals .We had quite a wet week, so were not able to use the garden, but there was plenty to do in the area and within the house. The private parking was ideal and the owners were very welcoming, leaving contact details and texting to check that we had everything we needed. There were plenty of takeaways in LLanrwst and a Coop and it was central to several mountain bike tracks that our two sons used. We enjoyed our week and will hopefully return to Dale Cottage in the near future.

  Everything was spotless. Llanrwst is a perfect spot for travelling to the many beautiful places nearby. Lovely garden but quite steep if you have young children or mobility difficulties. This is the 2nd year we've stayed at Dale Cottage. I think a dishwasher would be good to have especially if 8 people are staying. Would certainly recommend and the owner Mrs Lewis kept in touch to make sure we were happy with everything.

  The facilities were everything we wanted, well equipped and very comfortable. The house has recently been redecorated throughout and looked great. The decking in the garden gave us the perfect place for meals and drinks outside, enjoying the fabulous views. We took advantage of the lovely weather and location so went out each day, but if you're there during less pleasant weather there are lots of games and books to relax with, plus excellent TV options with Netflix included....bonus! The house owners are so welcoming and helpful, being there if we needed anything, but gave us privacy and space. We loved it!

  The kitchen is well equipped and modern with lots of space. Only slight disadvantage is there is no downstairs toilet which could be an issue for older guests or any with mobility issues. We would stay again though as it is well placed for visiting all North Wales areas and the railway station in Llanwrst is very close meaning you can leave the car behind

  The beds were comfortable and everywhere spotlessly clean. The garden is large and accessed by steps to all levels which maybe a draw back to some, but if mobility not a problem then lovely maintained garden. Many have complained about the lack of dishwasher, it doesn’t mention one in the facilities in the house so shouldn’t come as a shock and should not detract from the property. Would definitely recommend this cottage to large groups/families.

The bedrooms are huge...and having an en suite attached to each one makes life very comfortable. The owners are also very friendly, communicative and helpful. • "There was a smell (of drains?"

  ) in one bathroom which permeated the house. Some window catches and sink/bath plugs were a bit dodgy. No dishwasher. Only one TV worked and had an extremely short list of channels. Otherwise clean and comfortable with good beds.

  Thank you for your feedback. We have thoroughly investigated the smell you have reported but can not find anything and no smell has been reported by guests previously or since. We do not list a dishwasher on the property listing and when we checked the television a switch was not turned on at the wall.   All the bedrooms are doubles with en-suite and there is plenty of living space. The town it’s based in Isn’t the prettiest but it had a good bakers, butchers and a supermarket, there is also walks out the door and a good selection of bars, takeaways and restaurants within walking distance.

  All the bedrooms are superb and there is lots of room down stairs to spread out. Loads of parking. Bit of an Ikea show home really Location is OK, Llanwrst isn’t really a tourist town and is a bit run down, but you are only 10 minutes from Betws-y-Coed and 30 minutes from LLanberis and the rest the Snowdonia National Park. The local bakery and the local chips shops are absolutely first class.

• "Lovely spacious house with all ensuite bedrooms."

  Tastefully decorated. The kitchen is very spacious and has plenty of crockery, pots pans and other utensils. Handy utility room for boots etc. Negatives?: It does not have a dishwasher, which we would have used as we cooked every day. We missed not having paper roll in the kitchen and a door mat by the patio door leading to the cars, especially as it was a very wet week. Very pleased overall.

A very short journey to Betws-y-Coed and Snowdonia The owner of the cottage is a lovely man who advised us on great places to visit. It also a lovely dog friendly home. Highly recommend the accommodation and will return in the future

  The cottage was really well presented and spacious. We had a fantastic stay and would thoroughly recommend. As the weather was pretty mixed a tumble dryer wouldn’t have gone amiss! However this is only something minor... we will definitely be using Sykes Cottages again.

  3 reception rooms is a real treat and a massive kitchen which is well-equipped. As other reviews mentioned, a dishwasher would have been handy, but the sinks are big enough to drain a lot of washing at once so as long as you share the work it wasn't an issue! All the bedrooms are an excellent size and were spotless. 4 en-suites are a huge bonus and made life a lot easier. Llanrwst itself is beautiful and we will certainly visit again. The co-op is a very short walk away and having a local butchers and bakers makes the town an excellent base to explore the area from.

• "Had another lovely week in Dale cottage, we are regular visitors to North Wales and we always enjoy our trip whatever the weather."

  Dale cottage is very central to all the places we like to visit like Bodnant gardens, the Welsh food shop and Betws-y-coed. Always so much to see and do. Cottage was great for our family, still a shame there is no dishwasher and no downstairs facilities but it wouldn't stop us staying here again in the future.

  The cottage was perfect for us, very big spacious bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Plenty of room for all our cars and lovely kitchen and dining room. Very easy collecting the keys and the cottage is beautiful :)

• "Cottage is clean, warm, modern and very well maintained."

  Each bedroom having an ensuite is a big plus as is having secure off road parking for 4 to 5 vehicles - we had 4 vehicles and had plenty of space. Local facilities are within easy walking distance and more than adequate for a week away. If I had to nit pick the addition of a dishwasher seems a given and should really be provided in a house of this size. Otherwise everything was excellent.

  House was very clean and there was plenty of parking and plenty of room for the six of us and our three cars. Although there were four en suite bathrooms which was great we did feel that a down stairs toilet would be beneficial also thought a dishwasher should be provided. Plenty of car parking but not the easiest entrance to manoeuvre in and out of specially with a car parked across the road almost continually.

  Could do with a dish washer (just because I like to be on holiday from the dishes too!). We would have liked to enjoy the garden as we had a couple of warmer days but I assume the furniture had been put away for winter.

  Glad to say the problems some areas of North Wales had with lack of water missed us and we had a great time. Cottage was well equipped (surprisingly no dishwasher in such a large kitchen but not a major issue) , it was lovely having all en-suite rooms, a downstairs cloakroom would have been great but it kept us fit going upstairs. We would love to stay at the cottage again when we revisit the area. We love North Wales there is so much to do whatever the weather.
