In a prime spot just a stone's throw away from the city centre, this smart apartment is the perfect place for a getaway in vibrant Cardiff. Fresh, modern and minimal, we love the nods to the building's heritage in the original fireplace and vintage-style tiles in the bathroom. Though on the smaller side, the all-in-one living/dining/kitchen area still feels bright and roomy. Two extra guests can sleep on the contemporary sofa bed, but we'd say this home is a better base for two. Begin your mornings with breakfast in the bay window before immersing yourself in history at Cardiff Castle, exploring the shops and cafes along the Victorian arcades or taking lunch waterside at Cardiff Bay. For dinner, we recommend grabbing a bite at one of the excellent restaurants, pubs and bars close by, then finish off the evening with a glass of wine in the lounge.
