"Very clean ."
very comfortable. Well equipped. Spectacular views over the menai straits.
-
"Overall the cottage was very neat, tidy and comfortable, we found that the extractor fan in the shower room was not working and lack of information on how to adjust the heating as some mornings were quite cold, we did figure it out but instructions would have been good, the terrace could do with a good clean, because on our first night there after it had been raining it was very slippy, a comment made by a previous guest, that would like to have used it."
The views are well worth the stay and made it very relaxing, would I come again? no, would I recommend it? certainly.

"I enjoyed my stay and I would stay again."
The property is laid out in a line with big windows overlooking the Menai Strait. I felt like I was on a ship, which was ace. I imagine it being very exciting for kids. The property was nicely kept, and the bath is, as promised, amazing. Maybe one or two things could be upgraded but overall the property is nice and the view is astounding. It transformed being 'at base' into being as good as going out. However there is a busy road on the other side. You have to be super careful with dogs (and children). Amazing views and the experience was worth the money, but I didn't open the front door unless I was super sure the dog was properly harnessed and the lead double wrapped around may hand.

"Fantastic location as stated."
Needs a thorough clean/dusting. I only used the one bedroom, one with the view, a lot of dust especially in bathroom and there seems to be a problem with mould in some areas. I know this is difficult to sort but really cleaner should have sprayed those areas. I was a landlord myself for 30 years. Think one dishwasher tablet was a little mean. I did I enjoy my stay a very convenient location and the views.

"Absolutely stunning views from every window, Home from home and more, No Faults what so ever, Hospitality amazing,"
-
"Its a really lovely cottage with the most spectacular views of the Straits."
The cottage has everything you could possibly want in terms of comfort and cleanliness and some lovely extras provided by the ownerswhich were gratefully recieved! I was on my own with my dog for most of the week so lots of rest and relaxation. The only slight downside is the cloeness to the main road and had to be careful that the dog didnt escape! At present I'm walking with a stick and didt find dog walking from the cottage very easy but that said there are lovely beaches a short drive away which suited us fine ! The owners have obviously spent a lot of thought into making the property a lovely place to stay.

"Simply first class accommodation"
-
"Good points: The location of the cottage is great despite the road being very busy; just a short drive to Beaumaris and Menai Bridge."
The selling point online was the view of the strait from the main bathroom, which is wonderful. The shower is very good. The beds are comfortable. Owner is very helpful, sorting out WI-FI password for us. Wecloming Prosecco and cake Disappointing things: Soiled furnishings, window seat cover and armchair covers Towels have a dirty smell, despite us machine washing them Broken light pull in bathroom Dead insects in bathroom Cobwebs around blinds in sitting room Rusty radiator Scuffed skirting Dirty floor around Bath Dirty windows inside and out The cottage could be amazing with more attention to detail. It definitely isn't worth the £950 + we spent for 5 nights. It promises a bit of luxury but doesn't deliver this. Our first vist to Angelsey was beautiful despite the wind and rain. Unfortunately it will be remembered for a very disappointing stay at Glan Dwr Bach and we will not be recommending it to friends and family, sorry.
-
"Beautiful property in a superb location."
The ever changing view over the Menai Straits, the bridge and across looking towards Penryn Castle are breathtaking. The bath, also overlooking the Menai is a great treat. Bubbles with a view, literally as the lovely owner, Sally, left us a welcome gift of Prosecco and Fruit cake. The beds are super comfortable and cosy and the shower is the best I’ve ever took. It was a real home from home and our dog Annie really enjoyed her 1st holiday with a prime spot soaking up the sun on the bay window.
-
"A wonderful cottage with stunning views along the Menai Straits."
The views are constantly changing with the tides and the weather. It was our second stay there, and hopefully not our last. A great base from which to explore this beautiful island.
-
"Amazing property in a stunning location."
Everything we needed was available for a fantastic stay! And what a wonderful view to look out over!
-
"A lovely property with fabulous views, very comfy, and a great base to explore the Island, and aswell as the amazing bath, probably the best shower I've ever used."
The Prosecco and cake on arrival was a lovely touch, and I can't thank the owners enough for doing everything they could to resolve an issue with the TV aerial (caused by high winds) as quickly as they could, they really went out of their way to help, thanks.
-
"We enjoyed our stay, fantastic views from all rooms!"
Good location and well presented, we appreciated the modern kitchen and bathrooms. Lack of soap, shampoo etc in the bathroom was a surprise, we almost expect that as standard now. Patio/terrace was nice although we didn't actually use it much. For those who need a short dog walk before breakfast, Coed Cyrnol; next to Waitrose at Menai Bridge (5 min drive) was very good.
-
"A delightful, well equipped cottage with amazing views … a bit of road noise but that’s unavoidable."
. the owners have also made an outdoor seating area which is ideal for enjoying the afternoon sun and watching the shenanigans on the Striats… This is the ideal property if a member of your party has mobility issues… We really can’t fault our stay and will hopefully return again next year!
-
"Lovely cottage, very clean, well maintained & equipped with everything you need."
Fabulous views from every room with a patio to enjoy the scenery. A perfect place to relax.
-
"Lovely cottage with fantastic views."
Both bedrooms are excellent with their own bathrooms and sea views Located on busy rd but minimum traffic noise inside the cottage We will definitely be going back (Missing a wardrobe in main bedroom but that’s only my opinion)
-
"Glan Dwr Bach was a delightful cosy cottage with a view to die for."
The owners were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. One of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. Thank you.
-
"Great place to stay cant fault the facilities, the views are fantastic, really good base to explore the rest of the island, just a shame the weather wasn't a bit better on the last couple of days."
Only one criticism was the noise from the road at peak times, but its a small price to pay for the location.
-
"Nice property with stunning views, access to the water would be nice."
The road outside needs speed limit enforcing be careful with small kids.
-
"Should have told us about bring toilet paper."
Fire escape…none as I was concerned how to escape if there is fire as no fire stair at rear and front windows non open..it’s extremely important to put on listing to aware for others. Not happy to hear Jack Russell barked at most of time when open window from downstairs and need owner to control their behaviour dogs
-
"Glan Dwr Bach is in a stunning location looking across the Menai Strait on Anglesey."
The view of mountains across the water is constantly changing. Patio down steps was great too (but the road is fast - expect traffic noise and then ignore it). A short drive to shops at Menai Bridge and Beaumaris for provisions - so very convenient. Beds comfortable, everything clean, well-organised, some lovely touches on arrival plus bath with a view. Hob, oven etc new and easy to operate. Only additions recommended would be silicone spoon for stirring the non-stick pans. Otherwise, a lovely stay, would happily return.
-
"Wonderful stay."
Wish it could have been longer. Would stay again without hesitation. The only down side for us was having to go out of the front door on the main road to get to the lovely patio with our dog. Everything else was exceptional.
-
"Beautiful cottage with a WOW factor view."
Very clean & comfortable, tastefully furnished to high standard. Modern fully equipped kitchen catering for all your needs. Large bright airy bedrooms with comfy beds and of course the spectacular view. Good power shower in wet room, luxury bathroom again with a panoramic view. We had lovely weather and spent many hours relaxing on the private patio, just enjoying the sunshine & the scenery. Fabulous place perfect in every way, can't wait to return.
-
"We have had a wonderful week in the cottage, it was everything we expected and more."
The addition of a newly fitted kitchen with full size fridge freezer and every cooking accessory we needed was a massive bonus, and the newly finished private patio was a real surprise. As others have already commented, the views from every window on the coast side of the cottage are amazing, and even when the weather wasn’t the best, we found ourselves gazing out watching the clouds and boats passing by our windows! We did not find the noise from passing traffic to be too intrusive, although the cottage is adjacent to the main road to Beaumaris. This is a small price to pay for the excellent views and really handy location for exploring the island and the nearby Snowdonia countryside. As a person who has some mobility issues, I personally found the accommodation to be excellent, with everything on (almost) the one level, and the effort the owner has put into creating the private patio is to be commended. We are already looking at booking our next break here at the cottage and we haven’t finished this holiday yet! Thanks for letting us share your fabulous home and we can’t wait to come back!
-
"This is the most perfect cottage, exactly what we needed."
The views are truly outstanding and we spent many hours relaxing in the bath watching the sea - stunning! The views from every room window are second to none. The cottage has been so well planned out - our son came with us and he had his own “separate “ wing - which gave us all our privacy. If I could permanently move in tomorrow I would. Thank you for sharing this fabulous place with us. You are such thoughtful owners with everything in the cottage plus cake Prosecco, milk, tea, coffee waiting for us when we arrived - simply perfect. ❤️
-
"A really beautiful cottage with everything we needed."
The views were excellent really made the holiday
-
"I visited with my wife and 1year old for a last minute break over Christmas for 4 nights."
We really enjoyed our time from the moment that we set foot inside the property our expectations were met! A cosy cottage with beautiful views from all of the rooms. There was a bit of a draught from the main door and it is on a main road so you can hear vehicles zooming past on an evening from the rooms at the front of the house, but this wasn't a nuisance. Some nice touches in the cottage included a pair of binoculars to ogle the lovely views. The kitchen facilities were excellent and we were not short of anything. We were also provided with a little play pen for the baby which was great. I would recommend and would love to revisit in the summer. Oh yes the bathtub and view was amazing :)
-
"Lovely views from all windows."
Comfy, clean beds. The en-suite bathroom was lovely but could have done with a separate shower as it has plenty of room for one. Well equipped kitchen. Thank you for the Prosecco and cake. A very nice welcome.
-
"As listed. Great cottage with good facilities."
The bathrooms are of a good quality. Lovely views from the bath. Great location for the Snowdonia National Park. Good facilities close by - Pub, Waitrose, Fuel Station. Had difficulties on arrival ensuring we found the correct cottage and upset a neighbour. The road was very busy with a narrow paths which was difficult walking the dog. Having said that I would recommend this property.
-
"As a dog friendly apartment it didn’t have any outside area Even just a little square would be nice Also if 4 of us had gone I’m not sure where we could have parked another car, as the place downstairs was parked in front of our bedroom window."
So would have had no room as all
-
"Great stay, this was the third time!"
Unfortunately next year's prices have gone through the roof so it probably will be our last. Very disappointing.
-
"The location was perfect and the cottage was excellent for the family of 4 and our Dog."
Whilst there is no outdoor space to let the dog out on its own, the walk from the cottage to the beech is only a couple of minutes. The walk also takes you to the local pub / restaurant (the Gazelle) which is dog friendly both inside and out. All in all a perfect cottage in a perfect location.
-
"The cottage was lovely and not at all dirty or smelly like some reviews stated."
Shame there was no garden but we still enjoyed the views from the windows, especially the window seat in the dining area. The towel rail in twin room was leaking but plumber attended within 2 days of reporting this. Couldn’t get the hob to work. I did request the twin be made into a double but this was not done which was disappointing. Overall a lovely cottage with everything we needed and nice touch of the Prosecco and cake on arrival.
-
"We only scored good due to the fact it is missing an outside space especially with pet."
Such an amazing cottage views and facilities were excellent, we had a great time. Owners were very friendly and we had an amazing week. Very comfy beds and furnishings Thank you
-
"Views were truly amazing."
THAT BATH!!!!! cottage cosy and comfortable. had everything we needed. loved the place and surrounding area. will definitely book again. thank you so much for a lovely holiday after a year of chaos. hopefully normality will resume shortly x
-
"The cottage could have done with modernising as quite dated ."
Also nt a good idea to have carpets down when dogs are staying . Views are amazing ! just the cottage itself needs a good over haul decorating and modernising and bringing in to the 21 st century
-
"No spare toilet rolls in either bathroom was a small but penny pinching gripe in an otherwise well appointed cottage."
-
"This is listed as a pet friendly cottage but I feel the ad should be explicit about potential access to a yard /garden (or lack thereof) as the cottage is on a busy main road."
This made early morning/late night toileting a bit of a chore. There looked to be a small garden at rear but unclear if we could access. The views are spectacular.
-
"Fabulous cottage, high spec throughout and fantastic views but sometimes it’s the little things that cause a problem."
The can opener was impossible to use and the sofa was too old and uncomfortable as was the double bed mattress.
-
"The cottage was lovely with amazing views"
-
"The holiday cottage was as advertised."
The views and rooms were all amazing and we had a super staycation apart from the cleanliness and no WiFi for 2 days. There were dead flies under the dressing table, there were loads of cobwebs, food stains Around the kitchen In various places, a filthy grill/ oven, A vacuum cleaner that stunk of wet dog when we tried to clean for ourselves. It definitely hadn’t been cleaned to a ‘Covid-19’ standard and so we spent a couple of hours cleaning with our own products in the kitchen and getting rid of the cobwebs we could reach. We loved the property and the linen was lovely, but the lack of cleanliness let the property down. Also the lack of WiFi was very annoying. I think we would def stay again for a longer time next time but would love the cleaning to be improved as it wasn’t really acceptable. Thanks
-
"Only problem we could have a grumble about was lack of toilet rolls ( not a major problem though) and the property below us had a dog that in particular one night barked for a few hours, we assumed it had been left just happened to be the evening we ate in after a busy day."
Other than these points top place to stay with beautiful scenery would have loved to sit outside but no garden.
-
"I feel the listing is somewhat misleading."
The property is described as ground floor but, although the entrance is at street level, the property is actually the top floor of a three storey building. Two of the frying pans were not compatible with the induction hob so could not be used at all.
-
"Glan Dwr Bach absolutely exceed all expectations, the location and views from all the rooms were fabulous as well as the style and cleanliness of the whole cottage."
Will be going back again 100%
-
"Fantastic weeks stay at this little gem cottage."
Uninterrupted views if the straits was amazing! Really good base to explore All of Anglesey, which we did
-
"Brilliant! our first visit to Anglesey and this cottage is amazing - we loved it!"
-
"Had a lovely time in Glan Dwr Bach Views are stunning."
Property met all our expectations and was as listed. The bath was amazing. Would have been perfect if there was an area to sit outside to enjoy the view. Look forward to to returning one day.
-
"The second bathroom needs a mirror The fridge doesn’t get cold enough"
-
"Superb property!"
I will certainly recommend Glan Dwr Bach for the views and the quality of accommodation, these were excellent. Please mention to owners the dripping tap in kitchen - not a problem for us, at all, but I’m sure someone will complain. I’ve used Menai Holidays for years and never had a problem, they have always exceeded my expectations. This time I am far from happy that I had spotted GDB was not shaded out on the booking website, the week before we were travelling. This was resolved, eventually. I was told it had not been shaded out due to joining up with Sykes! There was absolutely not need for me to have been put in a stressful situation, the week before travel, and there still has been no formal apology. It was merely brushed off with ‘at least the property is free’. YES it should be free for me and my family as I booked and paid for it months ago. I do feel the latter should be shared with Menai Holidays themselves, as I say after years of no difficulties I feel that this blip, having merged with Sykes, and the response given is far from acceptable for such a previously professional business. I have paid a lot of money for a gorgeous property and expect a much better standard of ‘voice to voice’ customer service and a formal apology for such a basic confusion. Luckily for Skye’s and Menai Holiday GDB was not double booked!
-
"We have been coming to Anglesey for over 30 years and used Menai holidays many times but never stayed this side of the island."
Glan Dwr Bach was perfectly located for us and it was just what we required.Very clean & tidy with lovely beds & bedding and a lot of thought had gone into the layout. The views were magnificent from every room. Will definitely come back.As always service from Menai Holidays excellent.
-
"Fantastic location and outlook."
Very comfortable plus well equipped kitchen. Would have given 5 stars if niggly things sorted, such as lose toilet roll holder, lack of loo roll on arrival (not loo obsessed, honest!).
-
"Well apppointed, beautiful views, very cosy"
-
"Already posted our experience at this cottage"
-
"Fabulous views from all rooms, clean, comfortable and well equipped."
Wished we could stay forever!
-
"The small cottage was everything we expected."
Well equipped ,clean and delightful. The only drawback was no outside access. We were with other family members in Glan Dwr below us and so shared the outside space with them. It would have put us off booking again if we had not had this option
-
"Stunning. Simply stunning."
-
"Beautiful views, but a more well fitting front door, or a door into lounge would omit road noise-especially when wet."
-
"Marvellous cottage with fantastic views."
A layout that is quirky and different, but works very well. Very nicely equipped. An ideal location to visit Anglesey and North West Wales.
-
"The cottage is charming with fantastic views."
Nicely laid out for four people. There were a few things lacking. There was no welcome package with manuals. No mirror in the shower room and no light above the mirror in the bathroom with tub. We did not mind not having a dishwasher but there was no washing up bowl and no dish washing liquid. Only a couple of tea towels and the pedal bin would not stay closed. Also, the addition of a salad spinner would be good. We loved our stay in Glyn Dwr Bach and hope this helps.
-
"It would have been 5 stars but the main road in front of the house lets it down"
-
"What a very special place x"
-
"Stunning location with fabulous views."
Cottage was nicely presented; just one or two tiny things... Neither of us could get the hob to work! Might be worth checking out as we're reasonably handy! A few cobwebs high up on the walls (I hoovered them up for you!) Other than that it was brilliant! Staff recommendations for walks & beaches were spot on; we loved Newborough beach especially.
-
"This cottage is a secret haven!"
Everything is perfect and I never tired of looking at the view of the beautiful Menai Straits. Truly magical.
-
"Amazing views of the Menai strait from every window."
Lovely sized bedrooms and lay out all on one floor which made it easy having a toddler and baby. Good proximity to both Beaumaris and Menai Bridge.
