Tides is a ground floor holiday apartment just a minutes stroll from the sandy beach at Benllech. The apartment has a king-size double bedroom and a twin room. There is a bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. The kitchen is well equipped, and there is a sitting room with dining area. Outside is off road parking for two cars, and a small enclosed patio with furniture. Tides is an ideal family base for enjoying the coast, walking and cycling, towns and villages of Anglesey.

All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, shower over, basin and WC. Kitchen. Sitting room with dining area.

Area
Benllech Beach is on the east coast of Anglesey, North Wales. It is a beautiful expanse of golden sands, rock pools and a small stream running down to the sea. The beach is popular for a variety of water-sports including windsurfing, surfing, canoeing, sailing and swimming. There are pleasant walks in either direction from Benllech Beach that will take you through the rolling countryside. The beach has a number of shops and restaurants, although there are more to be found in the town centre. Outside Benllech, there are attractions to suit every taste, from the nine-hole golf course in Stors Wen to the many castles, museums and nature reserves to be found in the area such as Castell Mawr and the Hebog Circular Cycle Route.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

We booked this ground floor apartment in Benllech for a short 4-day family break during the first week in August. With us both being key workers and working throughout the pandemic and our 2 year old daughter still attending nursery full-time, we were ready for a break with our 15 year old son also and really looking forward to spending quality time together. Shortly before our holiday we were contacted by Sykes Cottages to inform us that our holiday had been cancelled. When I called for more information, the representative checked the system and informed us the holiday was in dispute and I was unclear what this meant. When she looked further she mentioned that she had just come off a similar call, before confirming that the owner had cancelled our holiday because it was not a 7-day break. However, the system had allowed us to make the booking for 3 nights and 4 days and our payment had been taken in full. I asked if we could book it for the 7 days instead and was informed it was not available as another booking had since been taken for the 7 days (of which we had already paid for 4 of those days prior). We were informed we could use the money from our booking to book alternative accommodation however Sykes were not able to check on our behalf for something similar as they were too busy and short-staffed. I searched their website within minutes only to find just two alternative properties, which were four times the price we had paid and far beyond what we had budgeted! We did receive a full refund from Sykes Cottages within the following 5 days, however with it being the first week in August during the school holidays and staycation's being in such high demand, we were unable to find an alternative holiday despite hours of searching the internet and making phone calls as everywhere was fully booked. It left our family extremely disappointed after having looked forward to it so much.

Unpleasent odour on arrival that lasted all week,out of date milk in fridge,fridge also smelled,oven light broke,oven temp.. Warning light broke no mattress protector,pillows smelled bedding old bleach stains on quilt cover,carpets coming away from wall carpet grippers visible mould on bathroom window frame,cold tap broken thick layer of dust on rest of window frames. Apt.in a good spot close to beach and ameneties Unfortunately needs a lot more T.L.C!

Nicely located residence close to beach and shops.. The apartment is tastefully decorated and furnished and all household goods and equipment are more than adequate. A clean.roomy, and comfortable apartment which contributed to our very pleasant holiday experience.

A lot of the furniture was worn and therefore uncomfortable.. There were quite a few cobwebs to suggest the cleanliness of the apartment. The main bedroom carpet was rippled and didn’t even meet the skirting boards at the edges revealing the gripper rods and several woodlice crawling along. The heating temperature was difficult to control and took such a long time to get the apartment warm during the whole stay. Such a shame as the location was absolutely perfect but overall, I felt this was overpriced.

Plenty of room for wheelchair and wide doors.. The bath is quite high so its difficult to get disabled or elderly person into the bath. It's not advertisd as disabled friendly but it so nearly is. A real home from home, very well equipped, clean and comfortable accommodation.

The only down side of the apartment was the underfloor heating.. It was cool in the evenings and there were no instructions on how to make it work. So we had to stay in the bedroom with the electric heater on which was a bit of a disappointment. Other than that the location was great in a lovely quiet road. Close to beach and coastal path.

Chairs were the most uncomfortable any of us had ever sat on.. They were barely padded and far too small.Heating has obviously been a problem for some time judging by comments in visitors book,it was quite chilly in living room at night.This should have been addressed.Hot water only seemed available morning and late evening,found booster button but took ages to warm up and not enough water for more than one shower.There were good things,kitchen quite nice,shower/bath really good,bedrooms warm.

Lovely apartment, clean and well equipped, good info pack from owner.. First holiday property we've had with a decent sofa to sit on and we've been in at least twenty in the last 10 years. Benlech is a lovely area to visit but we were out of season so nice and quiet, nice pubs and restaurants in the area.

We enjoyed our stay here over the coldest Easter we have had for years, the beach was a bit like a blast chiller, fortunately the sun was shining. The flat has underfloor heating which worked well. It would have been nice if the owners could have arranged to turn it up a day before we got there as it took about 12 hours to get warm. It was clean and well maintained and the keys were in a key safe so it was really easy and our late arrival did not matter. Don't get too excited about the outside space, it is a rather shady corner, I suppose it could be good on a hot summers day. There are extra wall heaters in the bedrooms and the beds are comfortable with cotton sheets. It is a good place to stay and is really close to the beach.
