Just returned from lovely week at Hunters Cottage. After reading previous reviews the owners have addressed most of the issues. We found the property clean and tidy and well equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The log burner in living room was lovely. Owners supplied ample logs. The property is so dog friendly. It has a good secure back garden. The reason I didn't give the property 5*. No welcome pack on arrival. Tv in living room and kitchen very intermittent. Tv in one bedroom didn't work. The hot tub was fabulous however needs a clean midweek has it began to smell last few days.

We are just on our way home from a week stay at hunters cottage. I was really worried after reading the recent reviews so we went prepared with our own hoover and cleaning products, on arrival we were pleasantly surprised it’s a lovely big house although the decor wasn’t to our taste the lounge definitely needs an upgrade but plenty of space and everything we needed so if you have booked then please don’t worry like we did it is a lovely house but like others have said it need some attention. I tried to call the numbers provided on our booking but didn’t get a reply and even text still no reply. No welcome pack so all we could find was a number of the house keeper and WiFi code on a book in a draw. Only tv that works upstairs is the one in the main bedroom the other 2 don’t work! Shower in en-suite had a note saying not to use because the door is sticking so that left us all using the main shower in the main bathroom which is such a small space. After the men using the shower because they are 6ft the water was going over the shower screen onto the floor and we noticed water leaking in the hall downstairs near the coat rail which also looks like it’s been a regular problem with watermarks all over the ceiling anyway. I also did try to call the housekeeper again but no signal so gave up. Washer/dryer is a nightmare so advice would be to use the washer and hang them on the radiators because the dryer takes so long. Hot tub is amazing the rest of the garden need some tlc We have had a lovely week but really think that these problems need sorting and also maybe a nice welcome pack would be nice with information on the area, recommendations for places to eat and go is usually standard wherever we’ve stayed before.

Below is a list of issues we raised on arrival, to date we are still waiting for a response. Cobwebs everywhere. All corners and skirting boards filthy. Kitchen threshold missing. Living room threshold filthy, unsafe and completely detaches when the exterior doors are opened. Kitchen cupboards and freezer still contain lots of food items from previous occupants. High chair (although not needed by us) was unclean. All the door frames upstairs are in complete disrepair, all stuffed full of filler badly, not tidied up and filler dust left across carpets. Holes in walls across most of the house some stuffed full of filler, some not. Main bathroom is missing a complete tile line across the top and is either in disrepair or not finished, either way it looks awful. En-suite bathroom the threshold to the shower is full of silicone and the shower door leaks. The shower itself once the handle is wet is incredibly difficult to turn off, in fact you have to get out of the shower and use a towel it’s so tight. The bathtub silicone around the outside is dirty. There is a crack that run the whole length of the floor tiles in the en-suite which you can feel the sharpness of the crack under your feet. Side of bed in main bedroom contains an extension lead along with and army of spiders and cobwebs and is filthy. Balcony exteriors are filthy and covered in webs. Lots of plug sockets across the house are either detaching from the wall or in general bad shape. Overall cleanliness is terrible. Design of main bathroom made it impossible for my father and my partner to be able to stand to use the toilet. It should also be noted that the eaves in most of the upstairs is not suited to those of a certain height as the eaves restrict space significantly. We’ve been unable to find any safety information for the hot tub or in fact any instructions for any appliances within the house or information about the local area. Tv in the lounge intermittently has signal and the remote control falls apart and the batteries clearly need replacing. Same applies for the remote in the kitchen. Kitchen clock the batteries need replacing. Strong smell of drains inside the property. Workmen arrived during our stay wanting access to the back garden which we refused, and they were then out on the drive for a couple of hours blocking the parking whilst digging a large hole, we had no prior knowledge of any works taking place. Stained bedding, most of which is also falling apart a. No pillow protectors. Would not recommend a stay here, there are far nicer and definitely cleaner places to stay in and around Benllech. I have a whole catalogue of photos but attach a selection as only 10 are allowed.

Upon arrival we thought wow this is nice, but when you delve into it it became noticeable that it wasn't great such as bannister coming off wall curtain rail fell off a few times over the week pot washer not working no wardrobe in room had to hang clothes on a maiden no mirrors anywhere and no curtain on Julian balcony window so sun was shining in at 4am.cupboard falling of the washer dryer cabinet in kitchen, but apart from that it was pretty good bit tight parking also and leak from shower door caused dripping downstairs hallway.when they manage to get these thing sorted it will be good.
