Behind the beach, the 1500-acre Newborough Warren sand dune system is home to skylarks, meadow pipits, oyster catchers, toads, and lizards. Tan y Foel horse riding centre is 3 miles from the village centre. Anglesey Sea Zoo, Foel Farm, and Anglesey Sea Salt make fun family day trips. Anglesey's racetrack is in nearby Aberffraw.
