This ultra modernist cabin was originally designed by William Krisel in the 1950s, with a wall of glass letting that Palm Springs sunlight flood the rooms with light. Mid-century furniture in tangerine and teal is a nod to the home’s roots, and the living room is a picture of perfectly placed coffee table books and object d’art. Play some Dean Martin on the vintage record player to complete the scene. In the back yard, a swimming pool takes pride of place, with a wooden hot tub waiting to one side. By day, hit the loungers, hammock and outdoor sofas in the shade. As night falls the fire pit is the place to be, or grilling something on the barbecue for a little outdoor jollification. Bedrooms all boast hand-crafted beds and desks to make the most of the space, with the twin bedroom home to a “clesk” (closet-desk) designed by the host himself.
Home truths: * The third bedroom doesn't have a lot of storage space - there's a combined desk/wardrobe
* Parking is in the driveway, for a maximum of three cars
* Local laws mean outdoor music is not allowed, so stick to the record player inside
