It’s all about the view at this sleek villa in the coastal town of Kalkan. Watch boats putter to the uninhabited Sıçan and Catal Adalar islands from the harbour (just a short, downhill walk away). If you’re not chartering a boat or sampling the delights of Kalkan’s seafood restaurants, days can be spent on the numerous terraces – one for each of the four floors of this towering villa. At ground level, it’s all about the swimming pool and barbecue area, and the view only gets better as you work your way up. Walls of glass lend a light-filled living room and bedrooms are just as bright with glass doors leading straight to balconies and patios.

*It's a short walk downhill into Kalkan town, but that means it's a steep uphill walk back home
*All of the bedrooms are upstairs, so this place may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
*Your host can provide a complimentary cot and high chair – this must be requested at the time of booking, and you’ll need to bring your own cot linen
*There's a supermarket nearby but there is also private parking should you wish to bring a car
*The pool has a ledge with an unprotected drop of 1 to 2 metres so the host asks that you do not sit or walk on the pool edge
*Though there isn't a dedicated desk here, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace
