Charming and vibrant, the natural stone facade of this Spanish country house might look unassuming, and you’ll likely never suspect it of the bold interior hidden inside, but it is bursting with character from the moment you step inside. Velvet furnishing, woven tapestries, and statement wallpapers all add a sense of manor house chic to it, but this home is nothing but stiff. In fact, it encourages you to spend many a lazy day sprawled out in any one of the living rooms – read by the light of a window, or catch your favourite movie on the large projector screen. Whilst the house itself is beautiful, the outdoor space takes it up another level. Set in a shady grove, the manicured estate grounds gives you the perfect vantage point to admire panoramic mountain views. Take a swim in the private pool, dine alfresco at the bench-style dining table, enjoy drinks in the rattan furniture on the shaded patio, or slip away to the balcony to soak up the tranquillity of your surroundings as you recline in one of the sunloungers. Madrid lies only 20 miles away and is host to some of the most wonderful restaurants and shops. Make... a day of the city and enjoy all it has to offer before returning home to kindle the fire in the living room and putting your feet up with a well-deserved glass of wine.

Madrileños are welcoming and friendly but sophistication circulates the warm Iberian air. The Prado Museum draws big crowds who flock to pore over works by the Spanish masters Goya, El Greco and Velázquez. Then unwind in the 350 acres of Buen Retiro Park that was the playground of the Spanish monarchy...
