Twenty minutes on foot from Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, and El Retiro Park, this apartment is well-placed to explore. Many shops, restaurants, and metro stations are nearby, as well as some of Madrid's most famous markets. When you're not sightseeing, this central home is practical and comfortable. We love the exposed brick and stone walls, though it does mean it's a little dark. The kitchen is the ideal size to rustle up lighter fare, but we suspect you'd prefer dining out.
Home truths: *We think this home is a tad dark. It won't suit those who prefer plenty of natural light.
*One bedroom has glass walls, but there are curtains for privacy.
*This home does not accept groups of young people.
*The floor can get a little cold, so you may want to pack slippers.
*Parking isn't provided, but a car isn't needed in this location. Instead of driving, explore on foot or take advantage of easily accessible public transportation.
