The most remarkable thing about Espinas is the quiet. Despite having three balconies, and being in the middle of Lavapiés, the street it looks onto is actually fairly calm. The building is old, and a lot of the original structure features prominently in the flat, which has been designed to complement the space, rather than dominate it. There is some pretty loud wallpaper though, which stops the design from falling into the dreaded ‘neutral’ category.
Home truths: *Even though there's a lift, it stops in between floors so you'll still have to take thirty-two steps to reach the flat
*There's only four spots on soft furnishings in the living room
*The kitchen could do with a bit more crockery and glassware
*Two people can sleep on a double sofa bed
*Some of the beds don't have reading lights beside them
