Some holidays leave an imprint on your soul, and this is one of them. This wonderful villa is on an oasis-like estate amid the vineyards of the Pènedes. The Font de les Dous waterfalls are only an eight-minute drive away and the area is rich with hiking and cycling routes, but you’d be forgiven for never leaving the grounds. It’s an idyll. In fact, the home also functions as a retreat – you can feel the positive energy emanating throughout. It’s a rustic yet beautiful space that manages to feel homely yet also oozes style. Art from the host family and from local creatives is dotted around, making every corner a delight to discover. This is a home for creative souls – it’s a refuge in a hectic world. You might spend your time in the meditation nest, or practicing yoga. Perhaps you’ll sit out on the pergola-covered terrace sipping local Cava and sampling the olive oil and fig and plum jelly made from the fruit trees around you. Olive trees surround the swimming pool, making your early-morning dip all the more peaceful. In the evening, you can look forward to dining alfresco beneath the fig tree. Light candles and sit out late, revelling in the natural beauty of the setting, and the love that’s gone into this oh-so-special home.
