Just looking at it, you wouldn’t expect Pulpo Gallego to be on the ground floor. It has most of the trappings of a loft, and wouldn’t feel too out of place in Williamsburg or Greenpoint. Maite’s done a lovely job setting it up. It’s been renovated in the past year or so, and even though it has a small and unusually shaped footprint, it easily feels large enough. You also have the benefit of being in Eixample, so getting around the city, either on foot or by public transport, is very simple.
Home truths: *The loft's at ground level, so there's no view to speak of
*As there are only windows at one end, the back of the flat can get a bit dark at times
*The stairs have gaps between them, which might not be great for small children
