It's rare that you'll want to spend as much time inside a villa as outside, but that's certainly the case at this Tenerife retreat. The open-plan living space epitomises the design choices, which blend the natural (warm wood and natural stone) with the contemporary (those averse to Brutalism may not love the abundance of bare concrete). You'll wake up to stunning sunrises over Mount Teide, while the tiered terraces offer plenty of private space to unwind in the sun – including an inviting hammock. Though it might feel like you're miles from reality in this island perch, it's just a twenty-minute drive to Puerto de la Cruz.
