Sure, the fuss-free interiors may not suit everyone, but when you can wake up to sea views every day, it really is about what’s outside the windows. The sun-drenched garden, albeit slightly overlooked, is the perfect spot for tapas as the waves crash mere metres away. For non-beach days, you can’t go wrong with a trip to the old town of Alcúdia where you can live like a local with a visit to the market, held on Tuesdays and Sundays.

*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*Only the living room and two bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning. The third bedroom has a fan, but it could get a little hot during the summer.
*The curtains in the twin bedrooms don't fully block out the sunlight. If you're hoping to enjoy a lie-in, you might want to pack an eye mask.
*The outdoor space is overlooked by neighbouring homes, so it doesn't feel completely private.
*The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
