Those looking for a remote retreat need look no further than this rustic mountain home, situated inland from the bustling shores of the Costa del Sol. Spread over a single level, the home flows from room to room with elegant archways separating the spaces. With exposed stone walls, terracotta floor tiles and elegant wooden furniture, your hosts have designed a welcoming space that's in keeping with its spectacular rural surroundings. The grounds are the real highlight and have been designed to make the most of the enviable Mediterranean climate and breathtaking views. A spacious terrace comes equipped with a private pool surrounded by sun loungers and there are a couple of shaded seating areas on hand to shelter you from the glare of the midday sun. Finally, there's a built-in brick oven for cooking your food over fire. Given the location, you're looking at a minimum of a forty-minute drive to reach the authentic Andalusian town of Vélez-Málaga, or the charming former fishing village of Nerja. So we say stock up on essentials, embrace the solitude and enjoy a week or two to completely disconnect – you'd be surprised how exhausting doing nothing can be.
