Back home, the decor is stylish and luxurious, just as you'd imagine, with pared-back, contemporary bedrooms across two floors, marble-clad bathrooms, and a designer, high-spec kitchen at its heart. But those oh-so-spacious terraces and pool outside are the clincher for us. Sunny mornings call for lazy brunches under the retractable pergola (mimosa, anyone?), followed by a sun-worshipping session on the loungers. When it's time to beat the heat, sneak away with a good book to the top-floor veranda or spill out into that high-style living space – those dangerously-sinkable white linen sofas have got cheeky siestas written all over them.
