When you're not topping up your tan and enjoying dips in the sea, there are plenty of bars backing the beach where you can tuck into the mouthwatering seafood for which these parts are so well known. If you somehow grow tired of the coast, why not head inland to the romantic city of Seville? At under 150km away, it's within day-trip distance. Visit its sprawling plazas, wander its charismatic old town and sample its incredible food before returning home in time for a poolside dinner cooked on the barbecue. Alternatively, cross the Portuguese border and head to Faro, the gateway to the Algarve.
