This attractive villa can be found in Antequera, a rural part of Spain just north of Malaga. The villa has charm aplenty, but its glorious views of the most famous landmark in the region – the Peña de Los Enamorados – make it all the more special. The mountain is known as the setting of a dramatic love story centuries ago, adding a touch of romance to the whole region. You need only open up the villa doors to drink in the view of the mountain. Inside, the villa is bright and stylish, with modern touches that blend with the rustic feel. The open-plan dining and living space is the heart of the home, flooded with natural light from the windows that run the room's length. From there you can look out onto the patio and to the private swimming pool – where we’d be spending most of our time. The outside space is lovely and private, so you can relax and unwind in peace. Begin your day with breakfast on the covered porch, dining together at the table, before lying out in the sun. When you need to cool down, slip into the inviting pool. Little ones can play on the lawn when they’re not perfecting their cannonball jumps into the pool. In the late afternoon, fire up the barbecue – you can look forward to lazy dinners under the stars here.

About Antequera

Unlike the mountainous regions that characterise rural Spain, Antequera is formed mainly of plains interspersed with hills, fields and olive groves. At the heart of this area is the namesake city of Antequera. What it lacks in coastline, it makes up for in culture, boasting a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture among its narrow streets. The Menga Dolme is Europe's most important megalithic monument – located just outside...
