Sitting just around the corner from Granada's ornate cathedral, this apartment could easily rest on its laurels given the wonderful location. However, step behind the front door and you'll find an elegantly designed interior that would be worthy of a visit regardless of its spot on the map. French doors running along the length of the living room bathe the interior in natural light and also have the added benefit of opening up to Juliet balconies – perfect for letting in a cooling breeze on those particularly hot summer afternoons. There's a contemporary elegance to the design, from the shiny tiling and chic furnishings to the eclectic collection of mirrors hanging on the walls and leafy house plants. By comparison, the kitchen is a little more dated and ill-equipped but will cover you for simple suppers. Besides, you're surrounded by a great choice of restaurants, cafes and bars in the centre of the city, as well as plenty of galleries and historic buildings. Another one of Granada's main attractions, the Alhambra, doesn't take too long to reach on foot, either.
