Set in the heart of Mouille Point and overlooking the Atlantic, you can spend mornings curled up on the sofa, breaking between chapters to check in on the ocean just outside.

Spend breakfasts at the striking dining table, the concertina doors gaping open to allow the sea-salt breeze in as you drink coffee, pass the scrambled eggs around, and chatter about the day’s plans.

Those plans might involve a shopping trip at V&A Waterfront or perhaps a day at Mouille Point beach doing little more than listening to the waves lapping. For something a little more cultural, you can stop off at the Iziko Bo-Kaap Museum, only minutes away. Considering that the Bo-Kaap is famous for its brightly coloured houses, it’s worth seeing anyway – even just for a fabulous holiday photo.

Back home, soak up the calm atmosphere created by the natural elements, neutral colour palette, bohemian flair and many verdant green houseplants. And if the space isn’t enough to unwind, you can always enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony at sunset.
