This is a very spacious house in a lovely setting.. It is very well equipped athough it would have been nice to have seen it in pre Covid conditions with all the ornaments etc in place. The views at the rear of the property are spectacular and we enjoyed watching all the fishing and cargo boats going past as well as the wildlife. I would not hesitate to return.

The cottage is in a beautiful location ,overlooking the sea ,a little unfortunate that Scotland was still in near lockdown ,we managed to get an online shop from Tesco which was very helpful as this cottage didn't provide any bare essentials like milk and bread which in previous experiences many cottages do Loved the break though ,definitely recommend

The Anchorage was a fantastic property which had beautiful views of the coast and was conveniently located right by the A1.. Everything you need is there, including a lot of books, dvds, games, puzzles and a well equipped kitchen. There are even 4 bathrooms (two are ensuites) which meant that everyone in our party had their own bathroom. We enjoyed having breakfast at the kitchen table with the amazing view over the sea every day. You can walk down to a stony beach by coming out of the cottage and turning right (about a 5 minute walk) but a nicer beach is 5 minutes drive to Pease bay or 15 minutes drive to Coldingham Bay. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend Th Anchorage.

This property is exceptional.. Beautifully situated. Fabulous sea views. Fabulous furnishing and décor with quirky fixtures and fittings. Very comfortable. Very well equipped. Lots of little extras. The owners have made it a home from home and we felt privileged to share their lovely home. Unfortunately, the weather was not so kind for our visit, but we still enjoyed our stay. Would love to return for longer and maybe some better weather!

The cottage was absolutely lovely, very warm and cosy, with beautiful views of the sea and coastline.. It was very well equipped. There are walks straight out from the front door. We all wished we could have stayed there longer.

The anchorage was an excellent choice for my family and I - party of 8 including young children and a baby.. Exceeded my expectations in all areas as a beautiful home with every luxury which we all enjoyed. The views of the sea were a highlight for all of us. Within easy reach of a number of coastal beauty spots; St Abbs, North Berwick and only an hour from Edinburgh for a day out at the galleries and shops

The property itself was very comfortable however cleanliness not as I would have expected from a property of this rating - carpets in particular and a pretty run down pool table - damaged table and cues WiB no tips In addition i suspect there was a ‘premium ‘ rental included for use of the on site swimming pool.. We arrived on Friday evening only to find that that our party of 7 adults was allocated a 1 hour slot each day with the first session being at 8.30 am on Saturday morning So for a long weekend of say 72 hours only 2 sessions were allocated No idea if any of the guests on the site used the pool during our stay or if the pool was empty at any time - no way of being able to flex or choose times

The location of this cottage is amazing.. Such a beautiful spot with amazing views and trails to explore. We spent many hours beachcombing and waking the trails! The only small issue we had was the lack of hot water. Just be prepared and aware that everyone needs to take a short shower and wait in between for hot water. Other than that, it was perfect!! We will certainly be back!!

The Anchorage was a dream to stay in.. The house was absolutely immaculate and had more than enough facilities such as kitchen equipment, towels, linen etc. The views and surrounding areas are beautiful and exactly what we, as a family, needed for our week long break. We will definitely be revisiting.

We had a lovely Christmas break at the Anchorage, it was ideal for a large group feeling like we all had lots of space but cosy at the same time.. The sea views were beautiful and it was so nice to have our own piece of beach right on the doorstep. The location near the A1 was so convenient for exploring the coastline and we were able to discover lots of lovely towns nearby.

This is our second visit to The Anchorage and we just love it! The house is beautiful with stunning views that just take your breath away every time you look outside! Location is great for a wee walk to the cove, short drive to Dunbar and another short drive to an absolutely stunning beach at Limetree Walk! Felt like I was at the beaches way up north where we usually holiday as a family! Fantastic Holiday! Definitely would return. Thanks

Garden a lot smaller than pictures suggested.. Light bulbs out in hall and porch. John Muir walk was down the road through forest walks and then down to beach, further away and rough terrain not all of our party made it.House itself was okay a bit dusty beds comfy and a nice house.

After having a good look at it on your website, the cottage met all my expectations and I have no complaints.. The location and views from most of the windows were amazing and overall the cottage was comfortable and pleasant to stay in. We all agreed that we would return in the future. Many thanks !

The cottage was really excellent for a pre Christmas family gathering.. A minor suggestion would be to improve the standard of the kitchen knives if only for them to be sharp. Also there was not a proper carving fork that I could find. This is very picky I know but as the chef.... To be able to sit and look out over the north sea with the sun coming up was fantastic as were the dark sky opportunities. The shops in Dunbar were extremely helpful and the staff welcoming. The grandchildren's reaction to the views from their bedroom of the sea was,' This is awesome.' A very good Christmas break and the road transport links are very easy.

The Anchorage is a superb property, extremely well equipped, beautifully presented and offers wonderful views.. The location of the property provides easy access to walks and is within an easy drive of some dog friendly bays, small towns and places of interest. I can't recommend the Anchorage enough and look forward to returning.

The Anchorage is a very well renovated cottage right on the sea.. We loved just watching the sea and sky change from the comfort of the lounge and sun room. We were also fortunate with the weather - lots of sunshine. The renovation work has been done to a high standard and the cottage has everything you need to self cater. Brilliant cooker. Beds are comfortable, with good pillows and quality towels and bedding. All in all our part of three would return without a second thought.
Mr Wildin, March 2017
February 2017
The Anchorage is a fantastic home away from home the views are simply breathtaking! Being so close to the A1 there are no limits to where you can go exploring Stirling and Edinburgh only a short drive away and Fantastic Castle's, we bought a Historic Scotland Pass which was great value for money as we went to all of the Castle's in the area (which there is a lot of!) There's also a free Castle Hailes Castle which is only a 10-15 min drive from the property, the Anchorage had everything you needed for a nice relaxing break.
Mr Robertson, February 2017
January 2017
A delightful house in a stunning location! The facilities, including a large well-equipped kitchen, four bedrooms with plentiful bathrooms, a lounge and a conservatory both with wood-burning fires, and a patio overlooking the sea, are excellent. We visited in January and the house was always warm. Our arrival was greeted with 'welcome' party provisions. There were interesting books and DVDs in the shelves. We loved it!

November 2016
We had an absolutely amazing time at the Anchorage.. The views out to see were just incredible, watching the moon rising in the snug conservatory with fire on a wind belting was a real treat. Fabulous walks to Cove and local gorges and woodland, not to mention the beach. Anyone looking should not be put off by local infrastructure, you don't notice it. We will be back!
Miss Pattison, November 2016

October 2016
The house and location right on the sea were perfect.. The contact with the owners prior to our visit was smooth and they went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our week, even getting games and buckets and spades together for our young daughters. We arrived to fresh flowers, milk in fridge, as well as delicous treats for the children and adults- including a very much appreciated bottle of prosecco! The house was essentially spotless and a joy to spend time in. Many a coffee was enjoyed outside wrapped up warm, (October) enjoying the fabulous uninterrupted views. Can't wait to return. Would highly recommend The Anchorage.
