Further afield, for the day tripper, is The Hermitage at Dunkeld or Queen s View at Loch Tummel or the slopes/hills at Glenshee. For golfers, the Rosemount course at Blairgowrie Golf Club is 2 miles away and has an 18 and nine hole course. Local golf courses include Dunkeld, Alyth, Strathmore, or you can travel to St Andrews or Gleneagles. For fishers, the world famous River Tay weaves its way through Perthshire. Alternatively, there is the River Ericht in Blairgowrie where day tickets for salmon or trout are available, or a number of lochs nearby. Perth is just 16 miles away and Dundee is 19 miles distant. There are numerous tourist attractions in the area, from Glamis Castle and Scone Palace to The V&A Museum in Dundee and the newly opened Perth Museum.
