The Sustonica certification focuses on four key areas: energy conservation, water conservation,
waste reduction and promoting inclusiveness. They are on a mission to become the most widely
recognised sustainability standard for holiday rentals and a catalyst to reduce emissions of holiday
lets and influence guests to reduce their own household consumption too.
Properties that display the Sustonica badge have successfully passed the criteria,
which align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council standards,
and their owner has made a commitment to look after our planet as well as you.
It was very comfortable, the beds were amazing. Plenty of comfy seating in the lounge, with a beautiful log fire and an awesome view! The bathrooms were perfect, very clean with a slight hint of being freshly painted, and the shower in the en suite was divine. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need and it has the best cooker we've ever used. Our stay was perfect.

This lodge was stunning everything you needed was there , I brought stuff from home just incase as it was the Xmas week, this kitchen was better equipped than my own , could not fault anything with the lodge , we are a family of 6 the only thing that would have been better for us is tv in the kids rooms cause they got alittle bored and wanted to watch what they like , also would have preferred the garden to have fence around for the dog but it wasn’t a problem , I would definitely book again in the future , the Prosecco in the fridge was a great idea after the journey we had, and the homemade scones , honey jam eggs milk and butter was just a lovely touch , they even provide some washing powder, dishwasher tablets cleaning bits , honestly couldn’t fault it amazing and Gary was a lovely man, I would

"We have been coming to Scotland with our kids for the last 10 years since they were babies and The Lodge is by far the best equipped place we have ever stayed at."
It was clean, tidy and very comfortable with little things like towels being provided making life so much simpler, the treats on arrival were amazing and after a 400 mile trip to the Lodge a welcome surprise, Blairgowrie is a short drive away which gives you all the shops you will need along with some lovely restaurants, Dunkeld is 15 minutes in the opposite direction providing some lovely walks and further access to the highlands.
We would not hesitate to go back to The Lodge and cannot praise it highly enough.

The rooms are very spacious with lovely furnishings of very high quality. Lovely bed linen and fluffy towels .
Our hosts Kate and Gary were very welcoming providing a lovely welcome pack of homemade scones and jam ,butter eggs strawberries bread milk honey and a bottle of Prosseco.
This is our 2nd visit and we're planning on returning in the future .It is such a peaceful place with lovely views ,highly recommend !

"We had a lovely week exploring Perthshire from The Lodge."
Best cottage we have stayed in, very clean and comfortable, very well-equipped, lovely views and the welcome goodies (including fresh baked scones and local jam/strawberries) on arrival were much appreciated. Lots to do in the area and a nice quiet lane behind the Lodge which made a good evening dog walk. This wonderful accommodation helped make it a very relaxing and hassle free week - we will be back!!

"What a fabulous Lodge, in a superb location!"
The view from the veranda is breathtaking and the visiting wildlife provide the icing on the cake.
Spotted Woodpeckers taking food from the feeders and feeding it to their youngsters, in full view, plus a red squirrel putting on a 30 minute show of fun and dexterity.
The welcome gifts were fantastic - especially the local honey, bread and strawberries.
Lodge was very comfortable, had everything we needed and was a perfect base for exploring the area.

"This was our second stay at the lodge and it was as perfect as we’d remembered."
The owners maintain the property to a very high standard and it is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The decking and view make it a great spot to relax and watch the world go by. We saw lots of wildlife again, including a deer and red squirrel. We cannot fault this place. We’ll be back!

"Whole hearted agreement with previous comments."
This is a lovely holiday home. No complaints . Any comment is therefore on a personal basis of what suits our needs, not the accomodtion. ie. lovely outlook as promised but did not know it was off a busy road A93 so always heard traffic, and also did not know it was on owners garden with large house being built beside it.Therefore more hemmed in than we would normally go for. Early morning dog walks an issue because of road. It would be good if Sykes said "off lead walks in area accesible by car only"
Owners lovely people and we hope all goes well for them..
The Lodge os off the A923,as stated in the directions given to find it. the A93 is a lot busier. Also it is stated that the garden is not enclosed. The Lodge is in the countryside with livestock surrounding it.

"Fantastic lodge."
Spotlessly clean on arrival with both the log burner (plenty logs supplied to keep us going for weekend) and heating already on for us. Welcome pack was a nice touch and provided fresh scones, jam, honey, butter, eggs, milk, bread and prossecco....other lodge providers should take note! Spacious and very well equipped. Lovely views from the decking and we were blessed with red squirrels visiting the feeders each day. Thoroughly recommend this lodge.

"Lovely property and the owners are very welcoming, but not intrusive."
The sad thing for us was we did not realise we would be so close to a property being built, so at times could hear the noise of the builders when sitting outside. A lovely clean property in a very nice area.

The welcome pack was fantastic, with home made scones and Jam. The lodge is furnished to a high standard and the beds were super comfy. Kitchen was very well equipped and had every utensil you would ever need. We will definitely return again soon!

"The Lodge was better than we hoped, not just the comfort and general high standards, the veranda and the views, but the wonderfully generous host who was helpful and relaxed but also respected our privacy."
We are experienced users of holiday accommodation but have never experienced such generosity. Endless logs, Prosecco, plentiful supply of all the basics and some. The only observation I would make and it is not a criticism, is that the kitchen and dining area in an otherwise spacious layout would feel a little cramped if 6 people were staying.

"Beautiful lodge lovely views and so peaceful."
This is by far the best lodge we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped .Garry and Kate our hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Their treats on arrival, wine jam butter honey milk eggs strawberries and not forgetting the delicious homemade scones were very much appreciated. The resident red squirrel visited several times a day.We are planning another stay and would highly recommend to others .Its amazing !!

The Lodge has been built to a high standard. Gary was very understandable about cooking in the Lodge what with the price of eating out, we also liked his reasoning behind the heating system, not every cottage lets you control the boiler. Thank you Gary and Kath all the best x

"Fantastic, well equipped accomodation in an ideal location being only a five minute drive from the local supermarkets."
Plenty of space. We went as a family of five during half-term and had a famtastic stay. The owners are helpful and nearby if you were to have any questions during your stay. The kids loved it and they are usually the harshest critics! Would highly recommend this accomodation and would love to stay again!

"The Lodge is beautiful property, it is exceptionally well furnished to a very high standard."
We had a warm welcome from Garry the owner who explained everything very clearly. On arrival there were a number of "treats" which was a lovely touch. It was well equipped especially in the kitchen. The walk in shower was amazing. In our many years of staying in Cottages this has to be the best we have stayed in 10 out of 10 - highly recommended

"What a wonderful lodge it far exceeded our expectations, was like home from home."
We were made so welcome and the lovely scones and the log burner lit all ready for us.
They had thought of everything, the kitchen was so well equipped, usually when you go to rental property its the basics not so with the lodge.
The only downside was we couldn’t stayed longer .
Highly recommend you stay here.

The level access into the property was great for my father because he has problems negotiating steps. It was a great layout with the kitchen and adjacent living area in open plan. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and more. All very comfortable and cosy. The view was splendid - we enjoyed watching the sunsets and distant hills. Bedrooms were also comfortable - me and my other half had the bedroom with the ensuite and he really appreciated the great shower. Blairgowrie is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area - the road up to Dunkeld is very pretty. We appreciated the edible gifts left by the owner - scones, biscuits, butter, milk, honey, jam and even prosecco - very generous compared to other places we have stayed - it made the stay extra special. We usually look for a place with local shops and walks however the quality of the property and its beautiful view made up for that easily.

"Stayed a week here and it was perfect!"
The lodge has been equipped with everything needed for a holiday. Sat out or in the views are stunning, very peaceful. We had red squirrels visiting the garden along with numerous birds.
A perfect location for a peaceful holiday but close enough to Perth, Dunkeld, Pitlochry etc for visits. We could quite easily move in and make this home!
The welcome items were very much appreciated.
We will definitely be returning next year. Thank you Gary and Kate for a super holiday.

The host ever so helpful, lovely welcome, lovely and generous welcome pack. They couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome.
A very spacious, newly built lodge, very clean and comfy in every aspect. Waking up to lovely views which was a welcome surprise. There’s no shortage of places to visit and activities that Scotland has to offer.
Absolutely recommend this facility and would definitely love to come back!

"Amazing stay at The Lodge!"
The accommodation is beautiful with everything you could need. We were welcomed with fresh scones, homemade jam, butter, milk, strawberries and organic prosecco.
Super comfy beds with extra fluffy pillows meant we all slept like logs. The terrace is huge with fab views overlooking the hills and Loch and was perfect for watching the sun set.
The perfect balance between chilling in the countryside and having easy access to shops and places to visit.
Hope we can visit again in the winter and make use of the log burner.

If you have a working dog that requires off lead walks a short drive is required but amazing forest walks a 10 min drive away . Views on the balcony beautiful. "What an absolute gem of a place!"
Beautiful, spacious, high spec property. Everything you could need. Fabulous decked veranda leading onto a large open garden with the most spectacular views across the valley and amazing sunsets. We were so lucky with the weather and were able to access some great days out. Loch Clunie is great for paddle boarding and other water activities and only 5 mins from the lodge. Blairgowrie is a good base with easy to access amenities and we also had some great days out at Ballater Highland Games, Dunkeld and Braemar amongst others. We were welcomed by the owners with freshly made scones, butter, home made jam and a bottle of prosecco as well as milk, eggs, fresh bread and strawberries! Amazing to find these on arrival. Would highly recommend this holiday lodge to anyone thinking of holidaying in this part of Scotland!

"The lodge is a lovely property, equipped with everything you could need."
We had a really relaxing time and enjoyed sitting out on the verandah at all times of the day. Our dog also had a great holiday. The owner Gary provided many goodies on arrival but left us to enjoy ourselves, although we knew he wasn't far away if needed. All in all a great wee bolthole to use as a base for exploring or just to chill.

"Beautiful lodge, fabulous condition with high quality furnishings and fittings."
Owners (live next door) provided a lovely array of goodies for our arrival which was very much appreciated. The lodge overlooks open fields and has a decking area with plenty of outdoor furniture. Shops are less than a five minute drive away. We found out the day before travelling that there was no Wi-Fi available. We wouldn’t have chosen to book any accommodation without Wi-Fi but managed to make do as we were out and about each day. Last thing to add is that whilst a dog is allowed to stay and a towel, water bowl and treats were kindly provided, there are (understandably) restrictions due to the pristine condition of the lodge. We watched our young Labrador like a hawk but we were nervous! Overall, beautiful accommodation with just about everything you’d need (Wi-Fi to come) and the owners are lovely.

Nestled in the peaceful hamlet of Kinloch near Blairgowrie in Kinross and Perthshire, is this superb three-bedroom chalet, The Lodge.
Enjoying a prime location next to the Loch of Dumellie, a designated SSSI, with fantastic far-reaching countryside views down strath and the loch, The Lodge is a fantastic pet-friendly dwelling looking to add a touch of style to their next Scottish getaway.
Leave your vehicle in one of three off-road parking spaces, before making your way into your new abode.
Step into the open-plan living space, where you can look forward to impressing your guests with hearty dishes, prepared in the well-equipped kitchen and ready to enjoy over a celebratory bottle of fizz at the dining table for six.
After dinner, snuggle up on the plush seating and gather your loved ones for a family film night on the Smart TV, as your pooch curls up by the crackling woodburning stove.
After a day of exploring, wash away the day with a soothing soak in the bath or freshen up under the overhead shower.
When sleep calls, retire to one of three well-presented bedrooms, two super-king-size with the option of being a twin, and a king-size with its own en-suite shower room.

Be sure to visit the Scottish Wildlife Trust site of the Loch of the Lowes, home to the renowned Ospreys.
Pitlochry is also easily accessible and home to the Blair Athol Distillery, Black Castle Ruins and the Faskally Forest.
If you’re looking to indulge in a spot of retail therapy whilst on holiday, then head to The House of Bruar, an upscale store with food hall, whilst those seeking adventure can head to the delights of Glenshee Ski Centre.
The red sandstone town of Blairgowrie is situated on the bank of the river Ericht, where it emerges from spectacular gorges in Strathmore. With good shops, great restaurants and coffee bars, it makes an excellent town to start exploring Perthshire and the beautiful Angus Glens. Surrounded by rolling fields, famed for their berries, the town is overlooked by hills and mountains, and is the main link to Scotlands largest ski centre at Glenshee. The surrounding countryside is the perfect terrain for horse riding, cycling, mountain biking and hill walking, whilst golfers are well-catered for with several excellent courses (including Rosemount) locally. Gleneagles and championship courses of Carnoustie and St Andrews are also within easy reach. Marvel at the world’s tallest beech hedge at Meikleour (600m long and 30m high), see Meigle’s collection of Pictish sculpted stones, or listen to stirring tales at Glamis Castle, the setting for Macbeth and said to be Scotlands most haunted castle! The small town of Dunkeld is also worth a visit with its historic cathedral, riverside walks, impressive trees, such as the Birnam Oak and parent Larches of Dunkeld, and the Hermitage, which offers breath-taking waterfalls. Abundant wildlife frequent the many surrounding woodlands, from red squirrels, foxes and deer to Swifts, Goldcrests and Buzzards, with breeding Ospreys seen at nearby Loch of the Lowes.
