  • "Great cabin stay, you’ve thought of everything."

We loved getting out of bed and landing our feet on sheep skin rugs. Sky Q with good internet was great as well. Cabin was massive, tidy and great fun! We will be back!

The property

Nestled in the hills between Tummel Bridge and Aberfeldy on the road to Schiehallion you will find Glengoulandie Country Lodges.

The lodge is set within a group of privately-owned lodges in the Glengoulandie Country Park in a quiet rural location.

This is Outlander country; the location was often used when filming the famous TV Series.

The red deer roam freely down to the lodge.

The comfortable log cabin style lodge is spacious and accommodating with fantastic views out towards the loch and the hills.

It is set in a quiet corner of the park with a small burn running alongside.

Beautifully furnished throughout, to provide contemporary accommodation, this is the ideal location for a family of six or group of friends wanting to enjoy a holiday together and experience the beauty of the central highlands.

Through the front door you will step into a large welcoming entrance hall where you can leave your outdoor clothes before entering the large open-plan living area.

With high wooden ceilings large windows and patio doors, this is a light room with all the characteristics of a stylish lodge.

You will find comfy sofas for relaxing at the end of a busy day, a dining table to enjoy a meal with family or friends, a breakfast bar around the well-equipped fitted kitchen area.

There are patio doors that open out onto a decked area overlooking the small loch and hillside.

The ideal place to enjoy morning coffee or watch the sun set behind the hills with a glass of wine on a warm evening.

The accommodation is all on one level with plenty of room for everyone.

There are three bedrooms all with access to a bathroom.

Glengoulandie is situated on a single-track road with passing places between Tummel Bridge and Aberfeldy.

Looking out towards the mountain Dun Beag where the deer graze on the hillside near to the lodge.

Drive into the market town of Aberfeldy where you will discover, Dewar’s Distillery, The Watermill bookshop, The Birks Cinema, a 9 hole golf course and the famous waterfall walk “The Birks of Aberfeldy”.

Close by visit Weem Castle, take a Highland Safari on land or loch to discover native wildlife, visit the red deer, pan for gold or step back in time at the Crannog Centre.

Or just sit back and relax, soak up the magnificent scenery while watching the red deer, red squirrels, birds of prey and an abundance of wildlife literally on your doorstep.

This is a wonderful lodge to be enjoyed any time of the year.

Where you’ll be staying

ABERFELDY

Pitlochry 14 miles; Perth 31 miles.

The market town of Aberfeldy stands on the River Tay amidst beautiful scenery in rural Perthshire. Famous for its association with Burns and his poem The Birks Of Aberfeldy, and also the bridge built for General Wade in 1733, Aberfeldy is just south of Glen Lyon, known as the longest, loneliest, and loveliest glen in Scotland. There is much to attract the visitor in addition to the spectacular scenery. There is a 10 mile riverside walk for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as numerous paths through forest and countryside. In addition, Aberfeldy is on the Rob Roy Way and Cycle Route 7. Whitewater rafting on the River Tay is an exhilarating way to enjoy the scenery. Castle Menzies is a wonderful 16th century castle, now fully restored and open to visitors. Take a distillery tour at Dewar’s World of Whisky on the edge of town. Sample the many bars, restaurants and cafes in the town and explore the galleries and craft shops, including the Scottish Chocolate Centre. The Scottish Crannog Centre offers a glimpse into Iron Age life and Loch Tay offers a multitude of watersports, while Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are on your doorstep. An hours drive brings you to 30 Munros, just waiting to be 'bagged'!
