My wife and our Newborn are having our first holiday away together, 05/11/22. The quaint little Barn is all one would need for a break away. Open fire, warm shower, very well presented. Sealladh breagha, buna vista, beautiful view. The barn faces on to little loch broom with views across to Ben Mor Coigach and Beinn Ghobhlach.. An Teallach the fisherfeilds and fannichs are on your doorstep with Sail Mor directly to the rear of the cottage. Ullapool and gairloch are fairly close by North West standards. Loads of low level walks, bouldering, rock climbing, beach walks, and many many more things to do. The bread and eggs with your welcome pack are the finishing touches that just add to what is already a perfect holiday. Peter

The Wee Barn was the perfect base in such a stunningly beautiful place. The surroundings were breathtaking, and so peaceful. The views from The Barn included mountains, the Loch and fabulous night skies. Walking down to the jetty to watch the seals, and the deer, was a highlight each morning, and there was an abundance of great walks to choose from. Gael, Doug and family were very welcoming and were happy to advise on places to visit during our stay. Though we stayed in late Autumn the Wee Barn was warm and cosy, especially with the log burning stove which Gael very kindly had lighting on our arrival. This was in addition to the amazing welcome pack which included milk, eggs and bread. The locals we met while out walking were always chatty and friendly. We both enjoyed the Wee Barn and the general area immensely, and feel it was one of our best ever holidays. We will definitely return, and can't recommend it highly enough.

THE PERFECT GETAWAY FOR 2 This wee little barn provides everything you need and more.. You get a welcome pack for when you arrive which contain all the instructions you need and a few little extra food pieces which is a really nice touch. You have a Log burning fire and tv which also has netflix for when the weather isnt on your side. Its in a nice secluded location close to the water and the hills which have a excellent waterfall walk if you dont mind a rough step path. (Well worth the climb). Also as a petrol head i have to say the roads allong this route are outstanding and would highly recommended if your not out to do the full NC500. Thankyou very much for the perfect winter break :)

Although we had talked about visiting Scotland, I was merely searching the internet to get an idea of prices. Then I saw The Wee Barn, and I was in love. Ten minutes later I had booked a week in July. Prior to departure we had some good communications with Gael, the owner of the cabin, and we found the accommodation easily enough. Gael greeted us on arrival, explaining various things about the cabin, then left us to settle in. Throughout our stay, Gael was always available to answer any questions, but was never obtrusive in any way. The location of the wee barn is totally idyllic, miles from anywhere, surrounded by countryside and water. Deer roam freely, even in the field next to the cottage, seals can be found on the rocks at the bottom of the lane, and less than a mile away we spotted a golden eagle soaring above. The nearest small store is some 12 miles or so away, and the big (!) town of Ullapool around 35 miles. If you are after a remote, get-away-from-it-all holiday, the The Wee Barn is ideal. There is so much to explore in this area, the roads are mostly single-track with passing places but hardly any traffic, so motoring is a pleasure. We could easily have spent three weeks here and not seen everything. The barn has thick, stone walls that keeps the heat down during the day, and a wood-burning oven to warm you up in the evening should you need it (we didn't). The interior is small (there is a hint in the name), with essentially two rooms: The living room/dining room/kitchen which comes complete with a two-seater sofa, a dining table with two chairs and a very well stocked kitchen with a full-size cooker. The bed is of a decent size with a very comfortable mattress and a walk-in closet. The bathroom is very clean and modern with a decent shower and underfloor heating (which is very welcome first thing in the modern, especially as the stone floors can get a little chilly. In the entrance hall is a comfy chair and a bookcase filled with novels, maps, guide books and other reading materials, which means you'll never get bored in the evenings, although in the summer months daylight doesn't fade until bedtime, so you could easily just sit outside and gaze over the loch. We absolutely loved The Wee Barn, its location, the service received from Gael while we were there and our time in this part of Scotland in general.

Hosts next door, very obliging and the area fenced in so safe to allow the dogs out.. Wonderful view of little loch Broom. Would suggest installing a microwave oven.

First time user of Sykes, but this accommodation exceeded our expectations.. A small, remote cottage in the Western Highlands in the grounds of the owners house (Gael is friendly and welcoming), nearest town (Ullapool) about a 40 minute drive away, this small barn conversion has windows on just one side - overlooking Little Loch Broom where seals were seen on the rocks at the bottom of the lane, wild deer in the local fields and an eagle nearby! Quirky electricity arrangement which added to the charm (coin meter with reusable coins that drop into a box). Small kitchen, as expected, with natural light supplemented by a glazed fixed roof window. Could possibly benefit from a microwave (but not a showstopper) with shops a drive away it takes some planning! Comfortable double bed with duvet and the room has adequate cupboard and drawer space. Modern bathroom with good shower, heated floor. A quaint yet modern take on holiday accommodation.

We have just returned from a lovely week at the Wee Barn: made to feel very welcome by Gael and Dougie.. We and our two dogs enjoyed the wonderful surroundings with the abundance of wild flowers and some remarkable local fauna: otters, while tailed eagle, golden eagle and even dolphins in Little Loch Broom- perfect.

The Wee Barn is ideal for a holiday for two and a good base for touring the North West Highlands.. The location is superb, the house is well-designed despite being small and the facilities and equipment are very good. The TV is not Freeview as described in the particulars; rather it is internet TV, but the broadband signal is generally good enough to view programmes satisfactorily although there is sometimes some buffering. Overall, we had a great holiday, helped by having superb weather!
